Beautiful pics, I especially like the first one. My Chameleon is just starting to get used to my camera, and then I can hopefully get some better ones. Welcome to the world of reptiles, I love it. Have an Ambilobe Panther Chameleon, and a Colombian Rainbow Boa Constrictor.
Is it a plant that will also outgrow the upgraded enclosure? If the Chameleon is large enough for an upgrade, I would go ahead and do it now. A little stress, but it will adjust. If the plant will also outgrow the bigger one, maybe use this opportunity now to learn how to trim it where it still...
Plant looks great! I have an Umbrella plant that is still filling up the lower and mid parts of the enclosure. I can't wait until it grows more to fill in the entire area. I have it supplemented with fake vines in the meantime. The second day we had our little guy, I could not find him anywhere...
Sorry to "hijack", but I am new and notice you mentioned growth spurts and eating more. Could you please share the increments that these happen so I make sure my little guy gets enough to eat. He is a three month old Ambilobe Panther Chameleon. Thanks.
Edit: tagging in case you don't get a...
I have the ZooMed ReptiRain Automatic Mister ( here is what it looks like if you don't know: http://goo.gl/jw9k0s ), and I have it set to mist the cage with two nozzles every hour. The reservoir needs refilled every day (not a big deal), but is there a way to add to it? It only holds 28 ounces...
Are you planning on doing a live plant in the center? I did a smaller one and as it grows up, I will remove some of the fake ones. Like a slow replace system lol. How does your cricket cup work? My little guy is brand new and still adjusting so I was considering a cup method until he is more...
Good idea with getting a Mister, I use the Zoo Med ReptiRain Auto Mister. I like it because I can set two locations to be misted and also how long it mists and how often. 15/30/45/60 seconds every 1/3/6/12 hours. I too thought a gravity drip and hand spray would be good, but got paranoid and...
I would definitely try to get humidity readings. When I got my Chameleon from Kammerflage, Ed let me know the moisture has a three-fold purpose.
"1. Drinking water – One of the primary health issues with panthers in captivity is kidney failure due to dehydration. The main reason this occurs is...
Our new arrival! He is the son of "Telo-heny" and "Lalambika". We are naming him "Brother Joseph" since he has a coat of many colors. He will go by "BJ" for short, and "Beej" for shorter (shout-out to M*A*S*H).
He is three months old...
We received our BEAUTIFUL baby boy today from Kammerflage Kreations ( https://www.chameleonsonly.com ). A huge shout out to Nature Box Pet Emporium ( http://www.natureboxpetemporium.com ) for this opportunity.
Nature Box did a food drive for the Denver Rescue Mission, and many vendors and breeders
