Yes, I hope to- but I'm going to start slow with that. We'll sell only reptiles that aren't going to intimidate mothers. There are 2 reptile stores in this little town. I hope the best for them both- I have a little different market than they do so I hope it works out- We don't have ANY tropical...
No, It's not in my house. I wish! My wife and I are opening a tropical fish store, it has a spare room- she wins and so do I! The chameleons and reptiles go to my new reptile room and leave the house.. and I get to expand:)
Thanks! I still have to incorporate my drainge system for the chams. I can do 3 4 ft tall cages on the back wall, 4 2x2 below there and 4 3x2 ft cages the top right side and 4 2x2 below. I have an assortment of frogs and gecko tanks for the left top and bottom shelves. With a ton of room to...
Sometimes mine eat out of my hand, sometimes they eat like they've been waiting for food all morning then sometimes I dont see them eat for a week, the food dissapears though.
Here's the shelving- you cant see the florescent lights that I mounted. I have t8 fixtures with 48 inch 5.0 and 10.0 lights on order:)
This is going to be cool!
Funny, yesterday I was at a reptile store that has a few chams. They're good people, just still learning about how to care for chameleons. While I was pointing out that the sphmagnum moss they lined the bottom of their cages with could cause their chams trouble- one ate a cricket right in front...
I find myself asking the same questions! I have panthers and a Veiled. They're both awesome! The more I look at other species like Carpets, Quads, Mellers, Oustalets, pygmies The more I want to take the responsibility of caring for them too. Find the Cham thats special to you. Any person who...
Yes, I'm putting it in my feeders. You'd be surprized how asparagus tastes in juice.. it smoothes out the flavor and you cant really taste the vegetable. Usualy something fruity like grapes dominates the vegetables and nobody knows they're in there.
I just feed the pulp to my feeders...
I had that going on but then I noticed that the ones growing were next to the window and the ones not were on a shelf. Maybe light.. Maybe temp? I have had a few left before that were just late bloomers too.
You guys are making me rethink what I feed my feeders. Hell, I make myself juice everymorning with all sorts of friuts and vegetables and feed the feeders the pulp. Today it was
Asparagus
carrots
broccoli
tomato
grapes
blackberries
Deeelish! This way my chams, feeders and me can enjoy...
I tell people to stand back and look out when my chams eat those. They can't get enough of them though!! I wonder what the biggest hornworm looks like because I've only seen them get as big as my index finger which is BIG!!
Maybe he's a white..er looking cham. did you happen to find what his dad looked like? I've seen a few very light blue and chams with a lot of white in them.
I put mine outside while it was nice warm and sunny, an hour later it started to get cold and I felt horrible for not knowing immediately.
Makes me wish I lived in Florida!!
I have one and I know of one other person on the forums, Furciferlord, who owns his awesome brother but does anybody else have an Andapa. Some day I'd like to find him a girlfriend but never see any around. If it's not too much to ask, would you post pictures of yours if you have one:) Thanks...
