I know all Chameleons are different but when I open the doors to my chameleon tank and put my hands in he comes straight over and climbs on to my hand. It is probably to climb me and get height but I'm glad he doesn't mind climbing onto my hands.
I drove mine 45 minutes home and stopped off at my parents to show him off. He travelled in a bag. The bags that locusts come in in the UK, not sure what other countrys transport their live feeds in. My Chameleon was just in the bag with some tissue. (Panther Chameleon)
My Chameleons fecal sample came back clear. No parasites. So I'm pleased about that.
But would you still worm? If there is no parasites why should I worm him? I would be building an imunity to the wormer so when I need it, it won't work.
It's great isn't it. Keith is still doing great. I had his poo sampled yesterday and the results came back clear, no parasites.
No should I worm or shouldn't I? No parasites no need to worm right?
Does anybody feed stick insects to their Chameleons?
I have a Panther Chameleon and thought about adding variety to the diet. Rather than locusts all the time and the occasional waxworm I thought young stick insects would provide a good feed stuff. Anybody tried it?
Obviously wasn't ignored then was it? You really shouldn't take it so seriously its a forum. There are no laws, no rules. Chill. If I want to write something on a thread that doesn't belong there its not rude.
I have a panther Chameleon not Veiled.
I don't use crickets at all, I can't bare the thought of them getting out and breeding in my home!
I use locusts.
As a added extra you could if you so wish add another UV bulb 2.0%. This will illuminate your exhibit and add an extra bit of UV. I use...
Sounds like the lights went off. Keith was quite amusing when I first got him, he'd obviously be walking around and 'boom' lights out. I caught him upside down on a branch once. I started fading lights out one by one and he now gets the oppurtunity to find his favourite spot for sleeping. UV...
Ha ha, your out collecting Katydids to feed to your Chameleon and we exhibit Katydids in the UK! I love that Sri-lanka exhibit europeon hedgehog and yet ride around on elephants. We exhibit Indian elephants and run over europeon hedgehogs! (not intentionally may I add, people should drive more...
arh. I agree with you here but I also like to see my rainforest leaves dripping and a slow trickling pump acheives this really well although I still haven't decided to go ahead with anything yet.
I'm using boiled tap water, left to cool in an open container. I do this because I feel the boiling will kill off any potential bugs and leaving it in an open container overnight allows the chlorine to evaporate. This is UK tap water so you will have to investigate your own local water. The...
Oh if you can watch any of the archive of the Zoo Quest programmes. They're really out dated but great watching Sir Dave making some of the first discoveries and bringing animals like orangs' into the living rooms of people when they'd seen nothing like it. And he's still as good, if not better...
