lol funny how both yours and my cham started their egg laying yesterday. mine layed overnight and is now covering her hole back up! we should get them on the forums to talk about their experiences :P
First time cham owner here, might have seen a few of my posts back about moving from georgia to texas, and then also purchasing a real nice cham cage.
Anyway, my female veiled laying eggs for the first time (infertile). Was a bit worried since according to the petstore she was born in Jan...
As far as I know should the chameleon injest moss it would be like eating plants. It's a veiled so it likes it on the warmer side of things, hence the 2 basking lamps, each one is 75 watts. I only have 2 uvb lights because I couldnt find one long enough to go across the top. Basically each one...
the cage itself is 4 feet high, 3 feet wide, and 18 inches deep. The hood, not sure but it fits my lights nicely, and the stand again I'm not sure heh. Good idea with the rocks, I'm just worried that IF (hopefully never) she got sick and fell the rocks would hurt. Oh also, the door is screen...
just some things to consider, I didnt read through all the posts, but I do hope your cham makes it out ok. Could it be plant toxicity? I've breifly read about alot of different plants being slightly toxic or just the sap. I do think I remember reading about ficus and shefl.... however you spell...
fyi
I have 2 reptison 18" flourescent uvb bulbs. I got the 10.0 for more penetration due to screen and the height of the cage. Also 2 basking lamps 1 on each side. I'm gonna looke for a decent sized Hibiscus to place in there and I'm probably going to either put moss above the hibiscus soil or...
So I just got my new custom cage from cagecompany.com and I'm really happy with it. It took a little longer to get than expected but I kept in touch with Steve over the phone to monitor progress, and I was more concerned with it being right then getting it fast. It looks real nice, waterproofed...
Psi- there was no debate between me and a business. it was an experience that i shared to everyone. whats happening now is a debate. so no.. i did not break any rules.
Linkin- your probably right next time I wont post my experiences on this board, I thought it was a free exchange of opinions...
I broke none of the forum rules. The rule you might think I broke was defamation. However I did not defame anyone:
*It is critical that businesses understand that simply because information is negative, and even injurious, that statement may not be defamatory. The posting itself would not be...
i talked about 2 custom cage website and how they never replied to me, thats the most negative i got. which were customwoodreptilecages.com and newreptilecages.com
well my post was deleted so I'll just say I finally went with a custom cage from www.cagecompany.com
I used the contact option on their site and steve called me the next morning. I got the arboreal beauty cage, with solid sides and screen doors (so no glass at all). He is also gonna put in a...
i think harder water will also stay in the air longer, or vice versa. im not a specialist or anything just thinking that your water is condensing and dropping faster than normal. water filters make water softer so if your putting filtered water into it that might be causing the quicker condensation.
well she was shedding kind of slow in the morning at first, but then i took her outside for about an hour and the shedding massively sped up, maybe natural sunlight is the key.
