the set up sounds fine. bummer you cant increase the misting time! some live plants would be great :)
theres a couple pics of them on this thread https://www.chameleonforums.com/todays-success-107536/
many keepers do not see their chameleons drink very often if at all. the way to monitor if they are staying hydrated is checking out their feces/urates every time they go. the urate should be white, this means they are hydrated. if it is a little yellow, they need to drink more. if it is...
i hope the vet has reptile experience and the visit goes well! its good you are able to get him in to a vet :) i still recommend filling out the "how to ask for help form" so that experienced members here can possibly give you an idea of what is going on if you are willing to!
im sorry Steve is doing this! sleeping during day the is generally a sign of something wrong, so please copy and paste this form into your reply, filling in your answers. this may help us determine what is going on with him. https://www.chameleonforums.com/how-ask-help-66/
it does look necrotic, like blood flow was cut off and the tissue died and she definitely needs to go to the vet to get it checked out!
check out this site, you can search for reptile vets by state on it! http://www.arav.org/find-a-vet/
please let us know how the vet visit goes :)
take him to the vet as soon as possible. sleeping during the day is a sign of illness and its spreading. it could be an infection of some sort, fungal or bacterial. im no expert and i dont know what it is but at this point i think you need to take him to a vet ASAP.
if you are willing to go...
:d
that's a good idea, i think on it! thanks :)
i guess thats what this one is supposed to do too! the cage is basically the same i got it off of ebay, fromb-frade cages, they are cheaper because some have small factory issues. mine is fine however! :) im just concerned about water going...
i just got the adult sized cage for our next baby veiled, a 2x2x4 screen cage and we are putting it together now. problem is the large plastic bottom did not come attached to the frame of the bottom. so how do i attach it to the frame piece for the bottom?? i dont want to just set the cage on...
also, do either of them have a small bump on the back heels of the rear feet? this is how you tell if it is a male, it is called a spur. if it has a spur, it is male. im asking because the larger one has a very small casque which is generally a sign of a female :) i will attach a pic of a spur...
are they sharing a cage? at the size of the male, they need to be in seperate cages. its okay for babies to share cages when they are pretty young but he is a lot larger then her. sharing a cage at this age will cause serious stress on both of them, one will become dominant and can injure the...
She is amazing Jann!!! i agree it would be awesome if her eggs are fertile :) its so neat reading about forum members breeding and incubating parsonii eggs, very exciting!!
I'm sad to hear this about Sid :( as Deca said, treasure every moment with him as you are today! I'm glad you have a chance to spend this time with him before you have to let him go, that is something to be very thankful for!
I am also glad to hear that Jr seems to be doing ok as of right now...
and yes, if you have substrate in the cage and it never dries out properly and keeps the humidity too high it can cause respitory issues for your cham!
this thread might help you out some, it has lots of members drainage systems + pics on it! https://www.chameleonforums.com/drainage-systems-cages-get-creative-102038/
Welcome to the forum! would love to see some pics of your panther :D
i would try putting the hose for the fogger in the top of the enclosure so that it drifts down. you do not want the bottom of the enclosure to be that humid! the cage needs to dry out before getting wet again and with it...
