As has already been said much better than I ever could, we need to be very cautious and responsible about the info we put out here. A new keeper could read this and think they don’t need to give supplements. Something like this would be better suited to starting a conversation of, ‘this is what...
Looks great! More branches and plants definitely…make a nice little forest or jungle. Just have to put it out there - have you thought about setting it up bioactively? It would be a bit more work and fussing over, but it’s easier to do than it seems.
Btw, I love the artwork on the side. 💗
I am of course very biased, but it is events like this and how we care for and help each other out that make us such an amazing community. I am so happy that this beautiful boy has gone to a wonderful loving home so that is no longer a worry. @Freyja737 I wish you peace and healing and safe...
After looking and looking again today, nada. I do see her isopods and springtails are quite active, so they may have been waiting for it with their catcher’s mitts on. 😂 Next time I give her a flower, I’ll try to put a cover over her substrate to catch any deposits. For science! 🧐🤪
I’ve looked for poops few times today and she’s either deposited it where I can’t see, her isopods made quick work of it or she didn’t go today. I’ll look again tomorrow for you. :)
Another vote for @Beman blog. 🥰 The main thing is to go at their pace and preference. I have 5 beauties - 3 panthers and 2 veileds. Each has their own personality and preference/tolerance for me. I do my best not to force them past their limits, unless I have to, which is usually to check if I...
Yay! You’re on your way! I don’t even know what a float valve is, but I’m super happy and excited for you and to see what you do. @SteveH always has some beautiful and more unusual species with flappy flaps and sail fins.
Wow! Sweet Bella is still working hard at the egg factory. At least she might be slowing down a little bit, I hope and pray. I was just wondering how your little beauty is doing, so your post is perfect timing. 🤗 As always, give her a yummy treat for me. 💗
Only strange for people who haven’t ever been on the forum. 😂 I’ve never thought to look. She’s in a bioactive enclosure, so her clean up crew takes care of the poops. Plus, her regular poo spot is half behind her lay bin, so it’s a bit hidden. I’ll try to see what I can see today though.
Absolutely as an occasional treat. Just make sure it is clean and free of any pesticides or fertilizers. I have hibiscus in pots that I cleaned when I bought them as long as a couple of years ago. Stella has one inside her enclosure, but it doesn’t do very well. I have a super strong plant light...
I’m sorry, but I’m having a hard time getting past this. I understand the theory/process, but do I understand correctly that you did this to Hunter’s hemipenes prolapse? Why? I must have missed this post…why didn’t you take him to the vet and have the protrusion/prolapse tucked back in and...
Stella doesn’t allow the hibiscus plant in her enclosure to grow blooms, so I have to steal them from an outside plant to give her an infrequent treat. She really hates the phone camera or she would have chomped the whole thing down instantly.
I keep a back up supply of plants for my girl Stella. Even then though, she always has the ugliest and barest looking of enclosures. I can’t keep up with her. 😂
Pet stores often sell babies that are way too young. A good breeder won’t send their veileds off until they are at least 3 months old, and panthers grow a bit slower, so they may be a bit older. I’ve seen veiled babies that were probably only a few weeks old in a local pet store. 🥺
I would take him out while you set it up and make sure to have everything that you need right there. I had brought in an extra tall plant just to put my chameleon on to hang out while I redid everything. I made sure to be quick and I did keep a close eye just to make sure there wouldn’t be any...
