It shuts the system off cleaner but I have a large container set up for my drainage and a dripper constantly on, I really don't see the benefit to stopping the system so clean when you already have everything dripping wet. I think you can save money by not getting it.

Get a timed missing system. I also have a drip in my cages, releases one drop every 45 seconds. Aimed at the pot of one of your live plants it will not build puddles. Live plants are a must.

Pothos are slightly toxic but usually okay. The bamboo you have, if a live plant, is more than likely 'lucky bamboo' and that is toxic. You should remove that immediately. The Hibiscus is safe, I'm not sure about the other you named. Check the "Safe Plant" list.
