They gave me 12 doses. Should I use all 12 spaced out every 72 hours? 10 doses for a months supply? Or something else?

My boss gave me this book to look over. It says once every three days at 20mg/kg for reptiles (which is what his doses are tailored to thankfully) I'll wait to see if some vets respond. I'm not seeing much in the way of a dose a day, so I'm leaning towards every three days. But what do I know...

He has not eaten. He's been "force fed" liquid food while he's been ill. I'm still not sure. I can find no refence to anywhere that reccomends a dose a day for these guys. Or any animal for that matter. Yes it's IM. I won't be injecting it into a bug, even if he'd eat the bug.

My hoehnelii male has an infection in his leg. (See previous thread here: https://www.chameleonforums.com/threads/help-swollen-foot.147781/) Vet has now prescribed ceftazidime. He weighs 10g. Strength is 10mg/ml. Directions are to give 0.02ml every day for 12 days. The dosage/weight checks out...

Oh I see. I wish he was that easy... Can't waste the medicine and now he trusts no sryinge since he assumes it's going to get shoved in his mouth.

Unfortunately since posting this he's come to hate the syringe. I use a stringe to force feed him his antobiotic, then liqiud food, then water to wash it down. Needless to say he's no longer a fan...

Between Scythe and Grim I'd do Scythe. I like the Lecter suggestion, but feel it will only work with a male. Scythe seems to be a neutral name.

Maybe Grimlock, Doom, or Scythe. With Scythe being my favorite of those. I think it looks like a "Juniper" (if it's a girl) but that doesn't really fit your theme.

The vet did not recommend or do this, although that doesn't mean that's the right or wrong choice. I'll give it a couple more days, if the swelling does not go down I'll call her and see what she recommends.

He drank from the syringe this morning. That's the first time that he's drank on his own since tuesday (that I know of)

She said it looked like it was infected. As did I and most others. No tests were done so it's impossible to know for sure.

Thank you both. I can barely get his mouth open for the meds/liquid food. I'll have to try to give more water tonight as I barely got any in earlier when he got his meds. When I drip water on his face he freaks out.
