Hey all, i bought a Veiled baby cham 2 days ago. The store i bought it from told me it was a baby but did not mention the exact age and i really want to know how old my cham really is. Here is a picture (not so great of a picture) if anyone can give me a good guess on how old he really is i...
i have a baby cham and he doesnt seem to mind the glass to much but i am moving him to a screen enclosured cage i built a few days ago just incase he does need more air flow
Yes betty i am currently using a 20 gallon glass tank but i built a new cage with screen enclosure to switch my cham to. Hes ready to be switched just i have a problem with the feeding. The crickets are very small becasue my cham is a baby so the crickets fit right threw the screen holes! lol...
its fine, i built a screen enclosure cage and i really need to switch my cham over to that cage but i need to start cup-feeding since the crickets hope right threw the screen holes. i will buy a 2nd layer of screen to stop them from escaping
Very glad to hear good news then, major relief heh, the last thing i wanna do is kill my first baby cham :( Jason, you really seem to know whats up with these retiles which is good for a lot of people like me :) I never seen my cham drink before but he catchs and eats crickets all the time when...
if it is a baby cham, you can keep it in a glass tank with no problem but once it grows and get older you WILL need to get a screen enclosure for more air flow. Adults dont like the glass because the reflection stresses them out and they dont get enough air flowing around which they REALLY need...
I would not use plastic bags in your cage / tank. Also you need to get a bigger cage, (way bigger) they need room. Also dont use waterfalls becasue they tend to casue harm to chams becasue ti causes bacteria to grow. are you using a cage or glass tank?
Thanks so much for posting this warning.
This will help out a lot of people and that bacteria can be deadly.
Glad to hear your new cham is doing great! :)
