    Plant recommendations-

Oh wanted to tell you that money trees can loose all or most of the leaves during different times of the year. Take it out and put it in an area that gets lots of sun and it will come back.

    Plant recommendations-

Be careful of ficus as most are on the toxic list. I personally have had the best luck with monstera or Swiss cheese plants. They have large leaves and sturdy stalks. I have used different plant lights thru the years. I like the one I have now and got a 22” plant lite bulb to fit in my extra 24”...

    Any suggestions?

Thank you for answering! Congratulations on your boy. At least you don’t have to go thru a name change like I did with my second child. Up until 8 months I was told my baby was a girl so I named her Julia after the father’s grandmother. Surprise it’s a boy so Julia morph into Julius. lol. But...

    Remodeling enclosure after lost chameleon

If you are going plant shopping, I love monstera. The broad leaf offers shade and stalks ate strong. I would ditch the bioactive aspect of the cage especially if you dealt with parasites. Also go.clean screen with two sides covered and taped down with vinyl on the outside of the screens. I...

Chameleon pulled out her claw and is now sleeping at the bottom of the cage please help!

Did you actually see the the nail in the screen? I imagine she pulled it out trying to dig in the fake carpet. That needs to go. Many times a female will think the floor of the cage is the floor of the forest and will try to dig and when they can't will just drop eggs and go into stress. You...

    Buffers for heat fixtures

Remember heat rises. If you heat your home, get a step ladder and see what the temp is near the ceiling. since I have my cage four feet off the ground and it's four feet and my ceiling is ten, the top part of his cage gets very warm with using the wall heater. So on nights when its really cold...

    Spike in his new plant

Great climbing plant I would put it up against a window so he can look out. They love that. Do not have any means for him to get to the floor or you could lose him or he could get really hurt. He will learn before long how to go straight down by going backwards. I rigged up my out- of -cage...

A few questions from a new veiled chameleon owner

Hello. One thing I would do with the Bambo is fill the holes at both ends with wood putty so your feeders don’t end up there. I learned that with my favorite branches which are dead rubber tree branches that the worms especially go there to change. Anyway bend a branch is the safest vine on the...

A few questions from a new veiled chameleon owner

Hello and welcome. Sounds like you have done a lot of research which is good. Your misting schedule and feeders will be determined on the age and sex of the cham. The most hearty are the male veiled chams. My vet recommended cleaning with Chlorhexidine gluconate 2% which I have used for years...

    New baby panther

Hello and welcome! Chameleon's tongues are so strong that even rocks can be picked up. The retraction is so fast that down the gullet it goes. So keeping rocks, gravels, pearlite, etc out of the cage is safest! i actually sift all of my top soil always. Females usually are awesome hunters too...

Rescued 6 week old Cham not doing well HELP

Get rid of the fake plant! Too many sharp edges and if he took a bite of it would impact and kill him. Skewers are about the right thickness for the babies. As he gets bigger you can change them out to chop sticks. Just make sure no sharp ends.

    Adult Chameleons for Adoption

Hey Andrew tell your brother to hang in there. I was diagnosed 10 1/2 years ago as terminal. I try my best to stay positive. That’s my trick. He will find his. Remember it’s his journey. You are there to support him. This is a fine start too Andrew. Best of luck to your family and chamily

Baby new cage but his digging

Btw those big thick branches are going to be hard for rtango to hold onto. The guide is nothing thicker then your thumb unless it’s being used for structure to hold up something heavy.

    New To The Community

Sorry I thought your girl had a clutch of eggs! Well thankfully she didn’t. Three ways to check for dehydration. Sunken eyes, sunken casque, and orange urate. Means the urine is old and has crystallized. Most of us keep the bottom of the cage without substrate so we can keep an eye on it. Also...

The best vine to get is Flukers Bend a Branch. It has three thicknesses. Mine likes to hang out on the large one under the basking light and the small and medium ones I have creat a jungle gym for him the climb on. Now remember she needs real plants to keep the humidity up plus the water stays...

Is this the right way to incubate my chams eggs?

Yes unfortunately female chameleons can retain sperm for the next fertilization! So even if you haven’t mated her, the next clutch of eggs have to be watched to see if they are viable. I agree it’s a trip!

Is this the right way to incubate my chams eggs?

Omg she is beautiful and had a full clutch of eggs! How exiting! Now don't forget to setup a calandar so you can take them out if the closet 20-30 days before they are ready to hatch so you can keep an eye on them and get ready. good luck. She needs a bunch of treats for doing such a good job...
