To be honest I don't really do anything. I have a pothos that lives in the water, maybe that helps with some of the absorption of stuff? The springtails and isopods clean stuff before it gets into the water, and every once in a while I drain some of the water.
I don't have experience with mantellas, but I will say that maybe building a "pond" in front where it is water in front is something that I have been experimenting with for my tincs, and they seem to like it! It makes drainage super easy, it looks nice, and I collect tadpoles out of there too!
Sorry for the delay, I would be willing, contact me if you are interested. If that is what it takes to get them to the right home, then I will be willing to do so.
Still available, I need the space if anybody is interested. You can have the setup, lighting, and gecko, which is worth way more than $100, which is what they are priced at.
Just a question, you put earthworms in the enclosure? I thought earthworms could carry some sort of parasite that can be transmitted upon consumption, was it lung worm? Or am I thinking of something else?
She does look like a nice little cham! Just wanted to say again what an amazing enclosure this is! And once those plants start growing in more, that will make it look even better! Great job!
Happy Chameleon Keeping!
