    Do screens block uvb?

I would highly recommend a linear bulb. The CFLs have been known to cause eye issues in chameleons and it's a shame that companies promote them for chameleon use. The only way to know how much UVB is actually penetrating the screen is to test with a meter. However they are very expensive. I can...

Questions about supplents schedule for Jackson's chameleon

I use the repashy lo d as well for my montanes and have not had any issues since switching from the traditional once a month multi and daily calcium. Before I would occasionally see some gular edema but since the switch no issues with supplementation. As said above a little goes a long way.

Updates on Olivander the TQ Gracilior (and Co.)

He got an infection in his lower lip, likely a scratch from a feeder. He's on baytril for a week hopefully it clears it up!

Updates on Olivander the TQ Gracilior (and Co.)

Looking good! Love his blues and nice horn development for his age. I noticed when I was giving Tormund his meds yesterday that he's just starting to show signs of a third set coming in.

    My new chameleon!

Very nice looking little guy. Don't worry about him biting the plant panthers are insectivores he shouldn't eat much plant material. I would switch to a linear 5.0 or 6% UVB light though the CFLs have been known to cause some issues with chams eyes. Once you move him to the bigger enclosure a...

    Mist King for Dummies?

First you set the current time then when your setting up the mist schedule you set the different start times and duration you want it to run each cycle. It's a little confusing because most timers you set a start and end time.

    T. quad gracilior Lower lip infection

Well Tormund has figured out that when he gapes he gets meds and decided to be a pain today. I tried dropping water on him to get him to drink so I could get the syringe in but he wanted no part of it. I tried gently pulling down on his gular but he stayed clamped shut. Eventually worked the tip...

    Is she pregnant?

Does she look gravid? It's usually pretty clear when they have a belly full of eggs. If so you may want to cover the cage and give her some privacy to let her dig. I've only bred panthers but when they lay it sometimes takes a few days once they start going to the bottom, often they dig a few...

    Parsonii care

No experience with Parsons however I've had similar issues with the WC Calumma Oshaughnessy pair I got from last years import. The male in particular was up and down throughout the time I had him and unfortunately passed a few weeks ago. Vet said it was a kidney issue. He came in loaded with...

    T. quad gracilior Lower lip infection

Thanks Janet, will do if it comes down to another vet visit. Fingers crossed we are on the right track now. I read somewhere about using silver sulfadine for treating oral issues in Parsons chameleons wish I had tagged the article but it was before this happened. I believe they used it both on...

Updates on Olivander the TQ Gracilior (and Co.)

I love how different he looks from my guy who is his half brother. Tormund is all yellows and golds in his cheeks and neck area where your guy shows those cool blues! They develop quite the grip, despite being about half the size of an adult panther male his grip is without a doubt just as...

    T. quad gracilior Lower lip infection

The vet gave him an injection to start the treatment but the follow up doses are oral. He didn't warn me about not getting the silver sulfadine in his mouth just said to just rub it along the entire area, it's bulged out enough that it's getting some into the inside but mostly on the scaly outer...

    T. quad gracilior Lower lip infection

He told me to apply the silver sulfadine topically on the exposed portion with a q tip and the enrofloaxin is given orally every other day for 5 treatments total over 10 days. I hate the smell of a dirty cricket bin so I try to clean it every couple days already. Vet said it looked like he had...

    T. quad gracilior Lower lip infection

@jajeanpierre have you dealt with this with any of your quad family? Just wanna be sure we are on the right track to recovery and I figure if anyone has had a similar issue with same species it would be good to compare treatments and results.

    T. quad gracilior Lower lip infection

Tormund took his meds without issue today. Wasn't to eager to see me open the door but he cooperated once I got him out. Snapped a few quick pics to show his lip while I had him out.

Whats the difference between t.q gracilior and t.q Quadricornis?

My pair is similar in being so different from one another, the male will bask and hunt most of the day in full sun outside up to around 80F while female wants no direct sun if it's above 75 or so. Over winter both are fine inside without any supplemental heat and night drops to mid 60s.

    T. quad gracilior Lower lip infection

Not exactly on mine the infection was inside the lip causing it to bulge some and not align with the top jaw in affected area.
