My veiled cham started shedding on Saturday....he was "grumpy" all day. since then he still seems to be in the shedding "mood" though there is a little bit left on his head.
I have one side of my chameleons tank covered up with construction paper to attempt to keep light out. Could it be toxic to the chameleon if it were to get humid in there and breathe in the chemicals from the paper? i'm only keeping it up at night for now.
I have my tv and my cham cage on the same dresser. I know the light might not bother him because it's still pretty dark, but i'm wondering about sound vibrations traveling through my dresser and to his cage.
Also without his heater/uvb it drops to 58-68f at night is that ok? I find it pretty...
just an update on the shedding, do they normally get super sluggish when this is happening?
I bought crickets from petsmart but im worried he may have ate one that was too big. he ate 3-4 crickets this morning but normally has quite the appetite. it also looked like he had a harder time...
sorry if the pictures aren't very clear. my new veiled cham has white on his tail and front claws (?) they kind of look like spots/blotches.
I kind want to say theres no way because he hardly goes under his basking light and it's only just appeared today. ive also just turned down his basking...
it drops to about 58f at night with no heater on. the only problem is I can't get a correct basking light reading. I have it turned down quite low, and he still has yet to use it. I could have it up full blast and it would still say 75f even though I know that is wrong because with my door...
how do I keep the ambient heat at the proper temp when its actually just the room I gotta worry about? lol, it's basically impossible in my situation...the only way to do would be to cover the back and sides of the cage to keep the right amount of heat in, right? but obviously that's not good...
veiled chameleon, hes the baby in my avatar. basically i'm wondering should I adjust the tempt when the room is at its coldest or hottest? cold is kind of hard to say ...im sure the poor guy would be freezing unless he were near the infrared basking light
my chams cage is in my bedroom and the basking temperature seems to fluctuate like crazy.
its to do with
-my own heat dish being on (not always on when im out)
-door being opened (it will literally start to freeze if it's left open long enough)
-if I keep my door closed with no heater being...
also what can id o about my humidity? it's so hard to control....it only stays at 50-60% for a couple seconds after spraying then goes back down to 20%.
thanks! i'll probably go buy some of that today when i get more crickets from petsmart. now...what to keep the crickets in lol my container for htem is so small.
