    Scaled Cham bubbler fountain

I forgot about this method. I have seen people use that back in the 80's and 90's before progressing to waterfalls and then later misting systems. It's better than a dehydrated cham but I really wish they would point out this is not the best method. Just like the water falls, it could be used...

    Not getting enough heat..

Chams enjoy a cooler ambient temp. Most come from mountains fairly close to the equator. That way they get the steady temps of the tropical area but lower temps from being at a higher elevation.

My veiled hasnt been eating much and can barely shoot his tongue

Calci worms shouldnt smell bad. If you have a vet, id go asap. Right now it may be a simple injection of calcium. In a few weeks it will likely be a bigger vet bill and a dead cham anyway. When they get to the point where they show no interest in anything, they are pretty much done for.

My veiled hasnt been eating much and can barely shoot his tongue

Are you sure the crickets were eaten? Or course he needs a vet but in the mean time I would try to get him Calci worms or better yet, the flies. Also, get him sunlight. Even if it s just 30 minutes in the morning or in front of a screened ( not glass) window getting indirect sunlight, it...

    Red light for basking?

It should be fine, just watch your temps. I assume this is something you cant return?

    Plexiglass

It should hold up. Plexiglass does just naturally end up looking bad after several years though.

Who lets their chams play outside of their cage? How do you get them back in?

I have a small outdoor cage that I had no problem getting my female into but when I went to get her out in the evening, she almost never wanted to go. Then I realized it felt too open. once I put a potted plant outside the cage, near the door, I could lure her onto my hand. This way instead...

What fruits and veggies are good for my cham?

cant speak for the other items but dandelion greens, turnip greens and mustard greens are very high in oxalates and should be fed sparingly. I was feeding my roaches heavily on dandelion greens until a member was kind enough to point this out. Some should be ok, but I wouldn't want to have a...

    Light recommendations ?

Those bulbs are a scam. Regular incandescent light bulbs work just fine. They are hard to find but the Dollar tree carries them 2 or 3 for $1. stock up, they almost became illegal in the US about 5 years ago. I think they are illegal in Canada. Walmart carries the halogen that looks the...

So what’s the deal with other sites on social media that are full of bad advice?

As far as the fountains... some people have their chams live despite of the fountain, not because of. That being said, there are some good points to fountains, I just feel the bad out ways the good in most cases. They give a steady water supply, they increase humidity and they aren't bad for a...

    Chameleon lighting

I use the plain incandescent dollar tree bulbs. They are either 2 or 3 for $1. 75 watt works well for me. They can be hard to find, (there was an attempt by senate to make them illegal a few years back) So you may want to stock up (I have a few dozen of different wattages). Walmart carries...

    Chameleon lighting

You shouldn't need 2 bulbs anytime unless its a huge cage. A single 60 to 100 watt incandescent should be fine. Are these bust bursting as in glass is shattering? or do you just mean they burned out?

    Drinking tips

keeping the humidity up is just about as important as actually drinking. Mine seldom drink but the humidity stays steady and up thanks to live plants.

    Panther lamp/light question...

Like longhorn said, 12 hours on 12 off and use the T8 or T5 bulbs... not the spiral CFL bulbs.

    Veiled chameleon vitamins

I use Zoo Med. Nothing special just reptivite with D3 once every other week, Reti Calcium with D3 once every other week and Repti Calcium without D3 at all other feedings... except when I feed black soldier flies since they have enough calcium already.

    Phoenix worms?

When I feed them off, they tend to go to the light. Once in a while, one flies out but i'm not careful.

    Phoenix worms?

Don't use a regular refrigerator. That will kill them. When I pull them out of my wine fridge, it takes about a week before I start seeing flies. I continue to get flies for about 2 or 3 weeks. The pups stage is fatter and brown.

What's the deal with the subreddit for chams?

There are always multiple ways of doing things and some work but maybe not as well. Let's take the misting debate for instance. Most days I mist once. That's it. Occasionally, they get none. I seldom use the drippers but mine show zero signs of dehydration. If my house was more arid, or i...
