Don, thanks much. Growing out a pothos atm, and picked up an artificial atm to hang above the basking and perch areas for water flow. Mend, thanks for the advice, will dust with Flukers Ca sans Vit D and have ordered Reptivite with D3 as bi-weekly. Klyde, yep, have experienced this often in...

    UV compact bulb that works

Ok, the Sunday update as promised. Bulb has burned in for approx 100 hours. Looks likes its increased a bit. I’ll type as I do this. At basking branch at approx 11” down I’m getting 3.4. (if interested, I'm using the wedge to simulate a juvenile's size, and the temp at middle of the wedge is...

    UV compact bulb that works

No offense taken. Im all about facts and reproducibility. I did leave the bulb on yesterday and today for some burn in time. I’ll rerun the meter on Sunday, around the 100 hour mark, to see what changes occur.

    UV compact bulb that works

Very similar, within 0.1 to 0.3, but, of course I couldn’t verify the pinpoint positioning as was done by hand, but numbers were close enough to ensure it was reliable.

    UV compact bulb that works

No, I actually measured out about a foot in all directions and its pretty solid. The bulb itself is just above the middle of the basking branch 11" up. The second photo of 3.8 is about a foot to the left of the branch, and the third shot of 2.8 is at the front of the enclosure, about 18" in...

    UV compact bulb that works

Shop guy told me that most info on the CF bulbs is based on old experiences and some of the new bulbs worked quite well. Dubious as per all the fourum reading, but picked up a few to try out, along with a Solarmeter 6.5 (I bought and one I borrowed one as well to ensure calibration and...

Hi folks. Trolling and figured I’d update. I found a mostly perfect enclosure! Custom 2x2x8 (6’ of cham space). Modding a bit yesterday and today. Its a screen top and full screen front. Sides replaced with plexi to keep heat/humidity. Has mister lines built into enclosure With the way the...

Thanks again all. The lighting is where I'm in debate at the moment. Love theAquatic Life fixture, had one of those over a 120g reef tank and loved it, but it may be a bit much for what I need atm. So I know I need: daylight for plants, UV for cham, basking for cham. The basking is easy enough...

Hi all, thanks for having me aboard. I've been a big reef tank guy for years and have been researching chameleons for just over a year now. Think I'm ready to go with a habitat for a captive bred panther, approx 6mos old, from breeder (when time comes). I'm still in planning and design stages...

    Introductions

Hi folks. Been researching and trolling for about a year now and feel I have enough info to start a cage build. Plan on going bioactive so I'm at least a month or two away from getting a new buddy. I'll start up a build thread that I'm hoping you experienced folks will tear down and set me right...
