She could have been preparing for the next day and wanted to ask. I doubt they would be working on that stuff at night. Just trying to give the benefit of the doubt here.
He will be fine for that time. If you are super worried you can take him outside but honestly my boys get free ranged most of the day and don't want to go back to their cage. If your house is in the 70s or 80s they will be just fine. It not like Chams in the wild do not have days that rain and...
I hope so haha. Might blow my cover here but I "might" be involved in an egg situation.
To second the other post, Matt has become a friend and a mentor to me in the chameleon realm and I cannot thank him enough for helping me to feel confident in this. Merlin has been an absolute joy to have...
I agree with you completely but people just want the cheap feeder. I dont even feed them to my beardie and tell people not to buy them for anything. My Aunt used to feed them to her chickens.
Oh man. I would love to get a hand picked Jan baby but I am running out of room and have a couple projects under way (TBD ;)). I cannot handle both you and @Matt Vanilla Gorilla tempting me. I will lose my mind. Thank you so much for the offer.
Has she been with a male? As for the colors, my female will show the colors any time she is pissed off. She has never been with my male and has not laid eggs (that I know of) since I got her. Like a wise man once told me (@Matt Vanilla Gorilla) They are chameleons they can change colors anytime...
@Rlc1994 The problem is that the big box stores probably went to Exo Terra and said they want a kit that is cheap and easy to move off shelves so that they can sell chameleons. Exo Terra also believes this lighting setup will work for chameleons so it makes it easy and cheap to throw together...
@jannb man you always get the most beautiful female Veiled I have ever seen. Add on top of that your pictures just highlight that so well. You always make me want to get a female Veiled
That is a long time with no food for a cham that young. There is a chance the mealworms are backing him up and he is drinking the water to fix that. You should never use mealworms with chams since the there isn't much nutrition. You can use superworms instead but should be mostly used as a...
I guess its time to upgrade my females cage. She needs some new branches. I plan to tear it down anyway since I am going with a plan to have the cage sit on a lay bin which would giver her more cage space.
Currently I buy branches/sticks at hobby lobby but that is not always the cheapest but...
He is definitely a pain with that. He wont touch roaches, Deals with crickets but his true love is grass hoppers silks and horns. He used to go crazy for supers but now hes not as aggressive after those. None of my chams will touch roaches though. I tried dubia and orange heads. Too afraid to...
Your local pet store should have a decent amount of options if you need it immediately. Otherwise I like to go through @nick barta @ full throttle feeders for roaches and things. Depending on your location will dictate what you can get based on import laws and things.
