    RIP Cosmo

Hey all, so I'm gonna try to pack as much info into this post as I can, but the super sparknotes version of this is Cosmo my Nosy Be very rapidly appeared to get very ill and passed away by the time I'd rushed him to the emergency vet this morning. And when I mean sudden, I mean I wasn't seeing...

Uvb 12.0 or 10.0 with a panther ambilobe

I can say with my enclosure I have a quad fixture with three plant bulbs and one 12% arcadia uvb bulb and it's raised about 6 or so inches off the screen. If your fixture is right ON the screen, I'd go with 5.0 or 6%

    r/chameleons advice?

I hardly ever posted to the chameleon subreddit in my earlier years, but I had to leave it after seeing so many sick chams posted there because they followed the lousy husbandry advice. Literally the link posted in OP's post sites "TOO MANY PLANTS" as an issue lmao. What a joke and a detriment...

    Dealing with anti-social Chameleon

I've found with Panthers they just mellow out with age. My Nosy Be was ferocious and very lunge-y whenever I put my hand near him before. Like even if I did the "correct" approach of going under the chin for a pickup he'd look right down at my hand and lunge at it lol. But as he's approaching a...

    Crickets good or bad?

I've actually been using banded crickets which I find keep better than regular ones you might get at a petco or wherever and they smell less too!

Is there a solid reason that we feed adults every other day?

My panther is just approaching a year but still has a pretty big appetite, getting 6 or so med/large dubia every other day or 8 med/large crickets and he doesn't seem to be showing signs of being overweight. Should I still cut back?

    Gout?

I would've but my guy seems to have recovered. Guessing it was just a leg injury from him being clumsy, now he's back to his normal behavior.

    Gout?

I'm glad I found this thread. I think my guy might have gout in his front right leg as it's looking a little swollen and he's a bit more lethargic today. I emailed the vet with some pictures to see what they say, but if anyone else has advice, I'm definitely here for it.

Anyone else's male panther show off their...you know?

So, my panther, Cosmo, will occasionally just stick out his hemipenis. It goes back in normally, but he's just...sticking it out every once in a while and it's something my other male had never done. I'd been to the vet last month and they said it was normal so long as he put it back in, and...

His mom is Darwi Odrade, from the buy early save group. Looks like his maternal grampa has some great coloring too! https://chameleonsonly.com/collections/gurney-halleck

I was able to snap a few more shots of the boy. He's doing pretty well! Still settling in and exploring a bit more of his enclosure every day. Also has a pretty good appetite too and the poops to back it up :ROFLMAO:
