Our first drainage set up was very similar! We used a $10 ikea table with a hole, funnel, and bucket. We did add some shower curtain around the bottom of the reptibreeze so that the whole table wouldn't get wet and rot. It worked great for our needs at the time.
I must say, years later, I...
Here is a thread about how to plumb the LLL drain pans. https://www.chameleonforums.com/lll-drain-pan-drainage-36941/
Also, if you're going to be purchasing at the Pomona show, make sure to stop by the AquaZamp booth and check out how we set it up. We use the LLL/TikiTiki drain pan so that...
We use one UVB bulb and one 6500K bulb in all of our linear fixtures and our plants have never been better! We switched over about a year or two ago and I've noticed a complete difference with the 6500K bulbs.
The torrential nozzle is a higher flow nozzle that sprays 3 gallons per hour, versus the standard nozzle that sprays .9 gallons per hour. Both are a fine mist, with the only difference being the amount of water.
Also, you can absolutely run a nozzle and RainDome at the same time. In fact, we...
Thank you to everyone for making the trek out to Brea! And a huge thank you for bringing so much delicious food!! I hope our free-range did not disappoint :p As always, it was nice to see everyone and talk about chams :)
Wow, way to take the air out of his tires.
The best part about this unit, in my opinion, is the automatic and internet controlled features so I don't have to do anything :) It might look confusing to me, but all I know is that he understands it and it works!
Regardless of the smell, it is still tobacco smoke and I would avoid doing it around your chameleons. Think of the size of their lungs compared to the size of your lungs. Now imagine all those toxins filling their air. I don't know about the actual biology of it, but my logic tells me its a bad...
Tylene, this is the trailer for the movie and it includes that quote!
Thank you to Brad for bringing all those pictures! Even if we did have to squint for some of them ;) And a special thanks to Steve for making crack and giving up Lakers tickets to spend time with us instead :D
I want to vouch for Mulberry because I get all of my silkworms, hornworms, superworms, and butterworms from them. I love that they are local enough that I can dive down and pick them up (like I did today) so I don't have to pay for shipping.
I've never ordered from http://www.tastyworms.com/...
Kevin (Summoner12) did readings with the aluminum foil. We have always heard that the matte side should face the light but I think we found that it didn't make a big difference. Maybe somebody can dig up the post again?
There are several site sponsors that sell feeders. Given the cold weather, I would try to buy from the closest place, although I think they all probably use heat-packs.
I saw a flock of those green parrots in Fullerton one day and I was so surprised because I've never seen them in Orange County before.
Actually, when I say that I saw them what I mean is that I heard them and they completely disrupted an entire school day because the kids kept looking out the...
We heard of a specific place in Laguna that supposedly had wild chameleons and we so no signs of them :( I'd love to take pictures of them more than take any home.
If you bought pvc sheets and pvc glue, you could make it yourself but it probably wouldn't turn out as nice. The chameleon group here in southern california was able to give input in this drain-pan's development and I think it really is a great product and makes life a lot simpler.
I got some of these from Rainbow at the Pomona Show and I loved them! I didn't see any dead ones and they were nice and meaty for my Melleri. Even my beardie and leopard gecko loved chasing them around. The only downside I noticed was that they go through Cricket Crack like crazy!!
