I’ve been thinking about switching to bioactive for my Cham, I did in my bearded dragon enclosure and it’s going well. I hope anyway. So now I want to plan for the other. I’m kinda lost on doing the bottom. Like I’ve seen some people use a plant grow bag, zen habitats has a clear “bio basin”.
I...
I normally would see her in her basking spot early morning through afternoons on the weekend and then week days she was usually up there when I come home for lunch. She has been mid level lately wandering around. Always looking like she’s contemplating life and watching tv when it’s on😂 I also...
Hopefully it’s related to that, this is my first winter with her. Thank you so much. I appreciate you! I’m always worried I will notice something going on too late.
Nope. The only thing difference is I don’t see her basking. Only thing I’ve changed is the bulb, but she has basked since then. And then I cut a few spider plant babies out of there. I noticed the overall ambient temp went down just around 2 degrees with the bulb change. House is colder due to...
I haven’t seen ember basking so much recently. Maybe I’m overthinking it, she probably does it while I’m at work. She’s been eating fine, moving fine. No weird sounds coming from her. Urates have been white. Temps and humidity are stable. I got a new bulb for my basking spot and lowered the...
Very good point.
Probably just better off taking Bert out for a little bit and dousing the place in alcohol? Maybe at night have him in a box or tote so he can sleep and put him back in the morning.
I’m just throwing things out there
You got a mite-y problem on your hands.
Is neem oil an option? I have no idea, it’s what my boyfriend used for his plants. Kinda stinks.
Good luck though.
You guys are so helpful. I really appreciate you all! If I hadn’t known the basking spot was getting too hot I would’ve assumed shed. I just started to panic because I know it’s too hot and I have a light coming.
That’s the sensor right by the spot. I recently found out that my basking spot is actually 95F and I have caught her gaping because she’s too hot. I have a lower watt light on the way. The distance is about 10in.
My first thought was it was a burn. Idk how long she sits in the basking spot but...
She was not like this before I left for work and just came home on lunch.
I really hope this is a shed but I think it’s a burn? I’m having anxiety now. I turned off my light. Will she be okay?! Oh I’m so terrible.
Magic I guess😂 the 100w was only getting the basking spot like 14in down to about low 90s. I’m drowning in bulbs right now to figure everything out with the dragon😂
I checked when I was trying to figure out my dragon bulbs and it was still the 60w in the chameleon one. Would having it pointed at that plant make a difference?
It’s this but 60w. This also came with the set up because the girl was going to switch to this in the winter time. I ended up trying it for my dragon, which wasn’t hot enough for him 😂
It’s a 60 watt that came with her and her whole setup because I “adopted” her from someone. And I think it’s probably 8-10 inches? It’s the same amount as the top panel of a dragon strand. I will go get a 50 watt and try that. I don’t really have a good way to raise the bulb.
