If you already have a tomato plant then why not just let them lay eggs on that plant? You're gonna collect the eggs anyway, or will you let the eggs hatch in the plant where they were laid?
Yes, a linear bulb would be better. Checkout Jannb's blog on how to keep baby veileds, she gave you a link to it. It talks about what UVB she recommends for babies.
Where are you looking for plants and where do you live?
If you can't find a Ficus Benjamina then another good plant to look for is Schefflera Arboricola. A golden pothos is a great plant as well, so you should definitely get it if you can.
When you say you have a double bulb setup is that in addition to a linear UVB?
Does anybody in here use any subsrate and cleaner crews for their orange heads or discoids? I know most people just use a bare bottom but I'm wondering if anybody has tried to keep them in coco fiber or something along those lines
Orange heads, red runners, and lobster roaches seem to be preferred than dubias. At least that's what I've seen from previous threads. However, there is always the exception and your chameleon might not like those
Check out the classifieds, a member here is having a pre-sale on veiled chameleons. It's not that much more money than buying one from a chain store, but you'll get a healthier chameleon
I'm no expert but some of the things I've read on these forums are:
1) CFLs can hurt your chams eyes (although it seems this has been resolved)
2) Linear tubes give better coverage
3) Linear bulbs put out more UVB
Again, these are some things I have read. Someone else can come and correct me...
So @Panthro413 how's your diy project holding up? I'm wondering how that pump is doing.
Sorry to bring this thread back up but I would love to hear how your mister is doing!
