Trying to get back in it!

Whats up guys! Been a couple years since I last kept chameleons, but school took over my life (college and doctoral programs, am I right? lol) Well now that I am more stable, I'd like to get back to keeping at least one of these guys again. I had fun raising my Veileds and successfully...

Left the chameleon world for some garter snakes

They are babies so they do musk all over, but you can get them accustomed to some handling.. The infernalis are not so friendly, but the pastel checkereds are easy going. You just gotta remember that these guys have a "mild" venom. They still have the Duvernoy's gland which produces proteins...

Will do.. I'm getting into them big time with a buddy.. we are going to start breeding the Neon Blue California Red Sided (Thamnophis sirtalis infernalis), Pastel Checkered (Thamnophis marcianus) to get super pastels, Eastern Black necks (Thamnophis cyrtopsis ocellatus).. These are really cool...

Left the chameleon world for some garter snakes

Thank you! I thought that was what you meant lol they eat fish, frogs, nightcrawlers, and pinky mice. I am sure that they might take some sort of insect in the wild every now and then, though Im sure it'd be very sparingly.

    Tegu!

I have one! Her name is Howard (yes, i know.. 50:50 shot with the name) She is the cutest thing alive, already at 3 feet in length, she wont grow any more. They are definitely rewarding animals to keep. Here she is trying to hide inside a paper bag

Left the chameleon world for some garter snakes

They are not insecticides, nor are they insectivores. They are currently feeding on pinky parts, (the red sided is feeding on day old pinkies). They are live bearers, litters usually in the low teens, but it depends on species. The pastel checkered babies I have came from a litter of 22...

Hopefully they do get to keep their red. They are so cute! Good to be back on here Jann! Its been way too long, and I have yet to get another chameleon. Instead I now have a gorgeous Argentine b&w tegu girl, and colombian red tail boa, and a feisty Vietnamese Blue Beauty. I might get a montane...

    Baby Jacksons!

Havent posted on here ever since I moved and had to sell my chameleons.. Lucky me I now frequent a shop (my friend is the manager so I get perks) and we had baby jacksons on Sunday! They are cutest little things, and come out with a lot of pattern. I was wondering, however, if they would keep...

    does anyone keep Namaqua Chameleons

How would you go about keeping them? I've seen them in the Animal Planet documentaries, but idk how I'd go about it. Something like a bearded dragon terrarium since they naturally live in a desert?
