After 11 months, panther babies hatched!!!

I'm embarassed to say I'm a little unprepared. I have access to lots of live food, starting them with flightless fruit flies. Not sure the best conditions temp/light/humidity... So I'm googling and searching forums. If anyone has good recommendations, please post advice or links! I've never had...

After 11 months, panther babies hatched!!!

OMG! Two out of four panther chameleon eggs I’ve been incubating since September 12, 2018 hatched today! I obtained them from @Matt Vanilla Gorilla. I’m so excited! Thanks, Matt! The remaining two look viable, so hoping for 4 out of 4!

Not sure what I’m doing wrong - baby Jackson’s sleeping

I'm sorry for the loss of your chameleon. He looked very sweet. If you have not already, I recommend you have a necropsy done to try and determine what caused his death. I am no expert, but perhaps my recent experience is related, and might provide you with some ideas. I recently had an issue...

    Facebook Groups Make Me ANGRY!!!

I've had the same experience in various forums (I'm a biologist and geneticist with over 40 years marine aquarium experience, and considerable experience in other areas including as an admin and mod at several hobby sites - admittedly, pretty much a novice at chameleons). When I try to help out...

Possible obstruction? Male panther chameleon near bottom of enclosure, looks to be sleeping, no stress colors

Another update, May 30. I think Karma is out of the woods and on the mend. Mostly recovered. He still has some black bruising, skin damage on his shoulders where the vets and vet techs restrained him for enema, drawing blood, and administering medications. But he is eating really well. He is now...

Possible obstruction? Male panther chameleon near bottom of enclosure, looks to be sleeping, no stress colors

I have access to pretty much unlimited silk- and hornworms. I am raising about 600 silkworms in my office at work. Karma is also in my office at work. He is getting misted multiple times a day, every day (dehydration has not seemed to be an issue before). I will post more poop when I can. Thanks...

    The Wait Is Over

I received four eggs from @Matt Vanilla Gorilla in September. If mine take 9.5 months, they will hatch late NEXT month! I'm very excited. (NOTE: I do realize some eggs hatch as late as 13 monthe, but I'm being optimistic!) All four eggs are viable. Learning from great hatchling threads like...

Possible obstruction? Male panther chameleon near bottom of enclosure, looks to be sleeping, no stress colors

Another update: So, a week after emergency hospitalization for obstruction (possibly made worse by enormous sperm plugs which were ejected last week!) Karma seems to be recovering. Attached are pictures of him today (he started a shed after he came home, maybe due to stress?) and three poops -...

Possible obstruction? Male panther chameleon near bottom of enclosure, looks to be sleeping, no stress colors

He seems much more relaxed, doesn't freak out being handled. Maybe he feels calmer without all that pressure. Nope, no reply. I hope they just deleted it! :)

Time to replace two 24-watt HO T5 bulbs, Arcadia 6.0 HO T5 and Daylight HO T5

Thanks, everyone! I assumed I needed to replace the Arcadia bulb yearly. If I don't, I'll wait a bit longer. I do like to have spare bulbs on hand.

Time to replace two 24-watt HO T5 bulbs, Arcadia 6.0 HO T5 and Daylight HO T5

September of last year, I ordered a 24" HO T5 Double Bulb fixture with Arcadia 6% and 6.5k Day-light Bulbs Included. I got them from lightyourreptile.comr. It's getting to be time to think about replacement bulbs. What is the most cost-effective place to order replacement bulbs? The Arcadia D3...

Possible obstruction? Male panther chameleon near bottom of enclosure, looks to be sleeping, no stress colors

UPDATE: The vet and several of you confirmed that what I found were almost certainly two (giant) sperm plugs. Karma now has a much more modest set of bulges at the base of his tail. :) Hopefully getting rid of those monsters gave some relief. He ate several silkworms on his own this morning...

Possible obstruction? Male panther chameleon near bottom of enclosure, looks to be sleeping, no stress colors

Matt, they do look like the pistil of a hibiscus, but I don't have hibiscus plants in the vivarium. I guess they were sperm plugs after all!

Possible obstruction? Male panther chameleon near bottom of enclosure, looks to be sleeping, no stress colors

Just was contacted by the vet office, they say its normal and nothing to worry about. I hope that's correct! Here's some information I found online. http://www.anapsid.org/seminalplugs.html

Possible obstruction? Male panther chameleon near bottom of enclosure, looks to be sleeping, no stress colors

Apparently I have two of them! Found another just now. I emailed a video and pictures to the vet, waiting for them to get back to me.

Matt, I don't have a hibiscus. And I'm pretty sure I saw this happening. I can text you the video if you like.
