Those photos were taken like 2 minutes apart. The one of me holding him was just before putting him back. I agree the pic of him about to eat (his tongue is partially out so I think that's his weird "nose") looks super crappy.
Here he is. First time I've handled him since I got him. His cage was temporarily under construction (installing better drainage) so he needed to come out. He handled better than I expected him to.
Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - Veiled, male, 10-12 weeks. I've had him for about a month
Handling - I do not handle him.
Feeding - He's on 1/4"-1/2" crickets, 10-20 twice a day dusted with rep cal low D. Crickets gutloaded with Josh's frogs cricket food.
Supplements - Repashy Calcium low D...
Already done. That's how I got the 85%. Its wrapped on 3 sides with a shower curtain and velcro so I can still take sides off during the day for airflow if necessary.
Yep I know that much. But since my hydrometer showed a max of like 45% I started experimenting today. But apparently I'm just a dumb dumb that doesn't know how to use a hygrometer properly... hopefully that tidbit of knowledge fixes my likely imaginary problem
Oh my God, seriously? I feel like a moron lol. I just assumed the probe would measure both.... good God. The "inside" measurement is the probe and the "outside" is the base. So why on earth would it measure "outside" humidty? That seems dumb. I'm salty that I'm dumb. Don't mind me.
I'm struggling to get my humidty above 40% for any part of the day (even at night). I've closed in 3 sides of the cage with a shower curtain and have a humidifier running. I'm starting to think my hydrometer is faulty. It's a thermo-hygrometer and thermometer part seems to work just fine. Any...
The napping was before the fall. The pictures are from after the fall. He's been getting around his cage to hunt his crickets pretty well since the fall. He landed on hardwoods not carpet.
Some basic info: 9 week Male veiled. Feeding was 10-20 1/4" crickets 1-2x a day. Gutloaded with Josh's frogs cricket food. Basking spot sits at 80-85. Lamps are on for 12 hours a day. Humidity consistently too low (I've made changes today to hopefully rectify that).
I posted a few days ago that...
So I'm gathering more items and supplies for my Randall. Got my crickets bin and cricket supplies yesterday. What is everyone's preference for temp and humidity monitoring. I work for a pet supplier so the number of options are kind of overwhelming. Since we're shooting for gradients, should I...
Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - Veiled Chameleon, male, and about 8 weeks old. I've had him for 3 days
Handling - I've handled him twice to change his poopy paper towel in his travel cup. But am planning on handling him very little (even though I want to because he's so darn cute!)
Feeding -...
It is a "He" I know that much. I was estimating about 4-6 month then upgrading to the 24x24x48, does that sound right?
How important are live plants? I've only got fake foliage right now but can easily get live ones.
