She's doing it all day long.
We think she's going to be two sometime this summer? Previous owner was sketchy with the details. She's the one that we got at supposedly a year and a half of age and that weighed 80 grams, with MBD to where she couldn't use her tongue properly. She's up to 150...
Jane's been spending more and more time on the ground. Last night she slept there. (Earlier in the week I was moving her back up in the evenings, but I figure she's doing what she wants and am now staying hands off.) I know she can get around the tank fine because she comes up when food is put...
It was about 2 weeks when I moved them to a second bin. I wasn't even thinking about them eating the eggs, but of having staggered harvests. It's been nada.
It's a sign of swelling of the brain. We had a cat in liver failure about 10 years ago, she spent a few days in a coma at the vet's, and she head-pressed for almost a month afterwards because the high ammonia levels in her blood was causing encephalitis. She was able to recover from it, and had...
Actually, that sounds like exactly what I was planning - coroplast on three sides, and screen on the front, top and bottom to allow for airflow.
I'm also wondering if she's getting ready to lay eggs. In the (albeit) 2 and a half months I've had her, this is the first time I have ever seen her...
What do you recommend? We'll be building her a new one in hopefully two or three months if everything goes as planned. (Building a larger enclosure for my hermits, which will leave their old one empty for our snake, which will leave the space needed for the chameleon.) I figured I'd have to use...
I hate it when my pets prove me wrong... walked in today to find her wedged between the pots at the bottom of the tank. I don't know if she was cruising, or slipped, or what. I got her free and she tried to scale the screen. She also lost a nail on a different foot. She seems fine, ate with...
That was something I was wondering about. It looked normal to me, but I'll get a photo in morning. It looked the same as the one that was already missing.
Jane was missing one nail from her front foot when I got her, but now the other nail on the same foot, same side is also missing. It happened sometime in the last week for sure. She is not a screen-crawler, so I'm wondering why this may have happened? I don't think I need to be worried, but...
I rescued three leopard geckos with severe metabolic bone disease. They hadn't been able to eat in weeks, their jaws were so gummy and broken. They also couldn't really move all that well because the bones in their legs and backs had broken and turned to jelly, and their front feet had three...
There were three of them in the same cage? Your larger female could turn on the smaller one at any moment and do the same thing. Just because they've been fine doesn't mean they are going to stay that way. It really is safest for each chameleon to have their own enclosure!
One last photo before I end this topic. I have to share this one! This is the most color she's showed yet. She was not so happy after the whole weighing event!
Are they including those that are wild caught and die in transport, and those that die at the hands of distributors and stores? Culls from breeders trying to get the perfect color? I agree the numbers sound ridiculous at the surface and may very well be altogether if it's activists putting it...
No, but she looked and felt like a beached whale. She hopefully doesn't have them, but the way she splays her back legs and rests her stomach between branches makes me think she's uncomfortable. She had a clean fecal before Christmas.
Granted, I have no idea what a healthy, proper weight...
155-ish grams!! *dances* She got herself into a very precarious position this morning trying to climb into the feeding cup because I was late with breakfast. I used the opportunity to get her out and weigh her for the first time since Thanksgiving, when she needed deworming medication. (This is...
I got carded at Petsmart when buying a hermit crab and again when buying a hamster when I was 24. They and Petco have mandatory regulations that you have to be 18 to buy an animal or have a parent with you, and my stores ask for ID if you look too young. My local pet shop as well will refuse to...
