New name....Flasher
Well, it's been 8 days and all my worries about eating are gone.
I open up the door to fill his feeder with crickets(boy they stink, can't wait till they are gone) and dubias and he starts quickly moving toward the area for dinner while my hand is in tank. Though he still...
Here is my non cosmetic version type 1.
It's 360 degree access has worked well the last three days....

I'll be reducing the 4" pvc to 3" the mesh tube will be smaller diameter and about 50% taller
Hopefully it will go inside...
i just talked to my breeder of veiled..... Twenty years experience. Her animals seem very healthy and are around for years at the show.
She recommends calcium with d3 and heroavite every first feeding and only the calcium with for second feeding.
Never had any issues.....
So what gives? This...
I have a glass enclosure with a draft screen on bottom and top.
3" of soil with vermiculite and spaghnum for keeping soil on dry side yet allows water retention for the plants to draw from while reducing mold potential.
I have schefflera and another growing in soil and a pothos in a earth pot...
Well he's eating readily now... Mix of crickets and dubia. Ilk be stopping crickets and using silkworms when they've grown enough. The crickets are a pain to keep.
His urates are a vibrant white now.
My question is when and how should I go about trying to handle him?
I like the white interior and mesh so bugs stand out. Maybe it's overkill as they have excellent eyesight?
I'm sure non toxic markers would be better than paint that can chip.
I wonder if a simple core design would be better than a cylinder.
Also the ratio of cup depth to cylinder height is off.
Should be taller cylinder or shorter cup.
i thought this would be the consistency of hard cheese by the directions off grating it
It doesn't realty grate as much as glops of the"brick"
Did I do something wrong? And suggestions to make it easier to handle?
Well
I bought the little guy Sunday at 11:00am
I've yet to see him eat anything
The Dubia cup seems untouched
He looks fine and finished a shed
His urate was slightly tinged
He seems mostly content perching on an outcrop twig and runs for the vines during misting
Time to fret?
