Welcome! You will love this forum as it is overflowing with excellent resources on chameleon husbandry. Congrats on your chameleon - they are addictive - just a warning!
The photo you attached does not appear to be working.
Yes, that is shedding. As for his colouration, sounds healthy to me. Those would be his resting colours. However, I've never owned a Veiled so perhaps someone with more Veiled experience can answer about the colouring.
My suggestion is move him immediately! It will not be stressful to improve his conditions - it will help him recover quicker. Get him up off the floor and move him to a different room away from the A/C and traffic. In my experience, I moved my Panther to the living room around 6 months of age...
Eggs!
It was so exciting getting home last night to see that she had covered one of the holes she dug the day before. Some careful digging revealed 19 beautiful eggs!
Now for the long wait!:D
My female Panther was mated exactly 30 days ago today. On day 27, she stopped eating. On day 29, her laying bin was placed in her enclosure and when I got home from work she was sleeping in her tree and had dug 2 test holes.
Hoping we have some eggs tonight when I get home!
Is it possible that she was interrupted when laying and retained some eggs? If that is the case, perhaps she is becoming eggbound.
If you are worried, I would get her to the Vet. You know better what is normal and not normal for her.
Perhaps someone with more breeding experience can help...
I got home last night and she had dug two test holes and was sound asleep in her plant. I gave her a good misting this morning and noticed she started heading down again! Excited to get home tonight and see if I have some eggs!
You and I will be in for a long and torturous wait - although...
