Snapped a couple shots of my newest chameleon! Pics don't do him justice. He ate his second cricket today, and I put him in his new home yesterday. Very shy eater, but an eager drinker. He's lapping at the leaves usually seconds after I mist. Need to get him a dripper is all. They were out at...
So they do require less food than a veiled/panther (~5 every day when they're young/10 or so every other day adult)? That's another thing I was wondering.
Hmm, that'll be difficult if he doesn't take to crickets within a few days (that's what he was eating at the pet store). My silks won't be big enough for a while and crickets are the only staple feeder readily available.
Hey guys, just brought home a beautiful wc Fischer's chameleon and for feeding I mounted a deli container to his enclosure as I did for my veiled, except my fischer's is ignoring the cup, though he obviously notices moving objects he seems weary of it.
How long should I give him before...
I just brought home a WC Fischer that looked very healthy and hydrated, and was tested for parasites (negative, but i'm going to have him checked just the same). The pet store I got it from had none of their chams under UVB, supplementing with calcium w/D3 every day to juice them up so they...
My cham tolerates being handled if I bribe him onto his feeder cup with a cricket. Reaching for him never works, he used to freeze and let me put my hand under him, but now he's realized he can easily evade me.
My chameleon hates being misted so I rely mostly on the dripper since he loves it, and his urates look better when I use the dripper as the main water supply. They tend to deteriorate when I rely mostly on misting via a hand pump sprayer since my cham tends to run from the water, even going so...
O yeah, 2-3" would be a sauna. I should've specified I have the basking light positioned a good 5-6" from the cage. It's only the reptisun 5.0 I have resting on top of the cage.
I keep his basking temp max 83 degrees f. 3-4 month old male veiled. I raise the light a bit and use a 60w bulb, ambient temp ranges between 69-75 degrees. Basically, I follow everything from Brad's blog.
