Today Etosha has eaten well although I have brought her food to her. She is kinda dark coloring too but is sitting high on her basking branch. I found 45 eggs. I guess my temps in the low 80s and reduced food was not very effective. I would like this to be a rare event. I will weigh her...
Yes after 24 hours she is just now up basking - dirty and dark. Her laybin is all flat and covered over so i will count eggs tomorrow. I gave her a mist, a hornworm and a couple of crickets. She has her dripper so hopefully she will recover tonight. She never looked big at all so...
Well this has all been a learning thing. Today she was on the floor twice and I walked in at 3pm to her madly digging in her laybin. I walked out and shut the door. How long should this last? I want to make sure she is able to complete it all satisfactorily.
My 8 month old female went through receptive colors about a month or so ago. It lasted about 3 weeks. Lately she is restless going to the bottom, wanting out etc she has a lay bin and has not seemed interested in it.
She is not basking normally. I was assuming she is near laying and...
Thank you! She does have her lay bin in her cage as a permanent fixture. Great photos of a pretty girl. Now I see the difference between color states. I looked all over the internet to understand the difference but couldnt find anything. Thanks again. I am hoping for no eggs but we'll see...
My 7mon old female veiled has been showing the blue etc colors of receptivity for weeks- see photo. No male in sight. I have kept food and temp on low side as would like to keep her from laying often if possible or at least small clutches. She has reduced interest in her crickets too. What...
Now Etosha has little interest in her crickets and is rarely eating them she will take silkworms and hornworms by hand but not her crickets. I am feeding 5-6 crickets every other day gutloaded and dusted in her cup. Should i be concerned or is this normal? She is basking and behaving...
This is exactly the info I was looking for. I have kept her basking low and have started every other day 5 crickets a silkworm, hornworm now and then. It all makes sense but good to understand it is a balancing act. I know the less egg laying the potentially longer lifespan. Thank you all.
Etosha has been showing receptive colors since sept 23rd so about 3 weeks. Behavior pretty normal but last couple of days not much interested in crickets. Still goes after a silkworm or hornworm. 2 weeks ago I put a laying bin in as a permanent fixture. No interest in it but is exploring...
I went to.home depot today and they said something was corroding but that it wasnt likely rust. I replaced with brass fitting they recommended. Awesome dripper otherwise and mine should be good to go now
I made this and it works great. Only problem is some part of the green piece continually rusts into the water. Have you had this? Do i need to replace that piece somehow? Thank you
I had/have an every 2 week subscription for crickets etc with Rainbow Mealworms in Compton. I emailed over a week ago about having received no delivery in a 3 week period. No crickets no hornworms -nothing was shipped requiring an emergency trip to Petco.
After I contacted them they said they...
