I’m not sure? I did disconnect it for the night. Just peeked in on him at 1am and he is fully awake and stumbling around the hospital set up. It’s just so odd that he isn’t sleeping.
Also forgot to add that I have been peeking on him at night and he has his eyes open all night. I mean I’ve peeled at various hours, multiple times, and watching the blink cam… he is not active but his eyes are both open. Not sure what that’s about! No light on his room during night time
Thank you!! I did get some cricket powder (the kind for people 🤢😂). I mixed a little teeny bit with water and a little bit of calcium. I left it more watery than pasty and put a few drops in his mouth. He continues to take water that way and looks less dehydrated. I gave him a full day of no...
I sent the vet pics of the syringes they gave me. Turns out the techs gave me the wrong dose .3 instead of .03 and the wrong syringes. Luckily I couldn’t get it into him anyhow! They are going to dose up the correct meds and I’ll pick it up tomorrow. I will ask about that too. I will definitely...
He won’t eat those ever and now he won’t eat anything. I’ve been giving him water with a dropper. He has been on every antibiotic under the sun. The syringes they gave me are too big. Office is closed now and I can’t get them to draw in insulin syringes… I just don’t know what do with him. I...
@JacksJill ive been emailing w the vet who is out of the country (such a wonderful vet) . He called in 14 days ceflorfur injections. ❤️ I just picked it up. Do you think an RI could explain the unbalance and eyes not tracking? I’m really worried about that. My guess is the mucous and gapping yes...
Just an update. Cassidy’s eye seems much better and the wound is healing nicely. He tolerates the oral meds better than the injections. The swelling has not returned. All was seeming fine until this morning. I found him at the bottom of his cage. His legs seem fine and he has a strong grip in...
Crickets and bsfl are the go tos. It’s definitely an infection within his sinuses not sure if that’s the proper word for it when it comes to chameleons. The newest attached picture are before and after the incision to flush it out. The only areas on him that are affected is around the right eye...
Btw I am a tad dramatic apparently 😂 he’s has not been battling this for three years lol it been since May ‘22 lol it does feel like three years though😂😂
I have used this kind for years. It has a little tube that runs from it. It can be finicky (slight twist from a flowing river to a slow drop) lol you just have to find the sweet spot! Interested to see if others have a better system!
Oh where to start! Cassidy’s eye issue continues. The highly qualified vet has been prescribing him Ceftazine since August. He was seen today and he is now on SMZ-TMZp oral once a day. At today’s visit the vet made an incision just under his eye and flushed it. I cannot even describe the...
Thank you! He does not go outside. We live in MA so weather is iffy. I tried bringing him out a few times when I first got him but he hates being touched so kind of gave up on it🤣
I’ve never heard him referred to as that type. He iJacksonii
I’ve never heard him referred to as that breed. He is a rainbow Jackson. @JacksJill could tell you more lol. He did have a shed recently but last year it seemed to be more of an infection. 10 doses of ceft fixed him right up (after...
Cassidy’s eye issue reemergence almost exactly one year later! Super lucky that the very who treated him last year started a mobile exotic vet clinic! They even do virtual appointments and can prescribe via the appointment as long as they have treated the animal before. It was amazing to do a 20...
