Hey everyone! I am new and have a couple questions!

hello, I will try to help with a few of your questions, chams require lights on and off to replicate the natural sun, haveing a schedual that is as close to possible of your local sunrise/set often is best IMO. They do not have must in the way of hearing so noise is not an issue. Some of...

I do a combination of both on really hot days, I find it very dark without the basking light so I often add a cfl to give a nice light.

when to mist during the day

With my panthers and veileds I usually give them a quick mist right when the lights come on about 7am to simulate mist. Then a long misting at around 9am about 8-10min ( most drinking happens at this time ) then at 12pm, 4pm and 6pm for about 2-3min, then lights out at 8ish

    Preparing for July's Surprise

Im sure with some extra sticks and pathways that ficus can be a great addition to your setup. I have even put plants up on other objects in the cage to get them to a height that the chameleon seems to use and enjoy.

    chameleon won't dig in container

I find that sometimes digging a hole for the female may help. Often mine will use the hole I dug. Also I have found different females to like different laying mediums from soil and sand to varying mixtures if both. I also pack the bottom layer of my bins quite hard with just soil. It seems to...

    can of worms

It sounds like a dead prepared food, most chams ( all of mine ) will not show any interest in non living prey items. With the exception of veileds eating the odd pc of fruit or vegatable.

Cleaning out the cage with.... Windex?

I would avoid the windex and instead use a mixture of warm water and vinegar, Its more natural. put it in a clean spray bottle and spray, whipe, rinse, whipe and rinse again :)

Chameleon choking on water! What do i do?

I would keep a close eye and try to see if you can get to the vet. She may have aspirated some water. Force watering can be difficult to do. I like the plant in the shower methode, with water bouncing of the wall onto the plant and chameleon. But I think she has prob had eough experience...
