I have 1 for each cage. So a total of 2 units. I don't think it's faulty, it may be the alarm. I'll have to take a look at it soon and go through the settings again.
I use this thermometer/hydrometer in both of my panthers cages and I was wondering how accurate these are. I also use a laser infrared thermometer and it usually reads about a 3 degree difference. I also have a problem where it will never stay on Fahrenheit, it will beep and switch to Celsius...
has your cham ever seen the bearded dragon? I sometimes think about getting one but then i would have 2 chams, a turtle tank, and a bearded dragon in my room and if i were to take him out i don't know how a chameleon would react to seeing him.
also just wanted to add that one on my chams cage...
I need a new tree to put in Skittles cage soon and I'm not sure what type to get. I have a 4ft tall cage and i want something that will be around 3 ft probably. I also have a mistking so anything that can handle water well would be great too so it wont get waterlogged. What type of tree do you...
Usually about an hour before the lights turn off in my panthers cage my chameleons go to their sleeping spots and just chill out but don't fall asleep until the lights go out. He may just be hanging out. When do your lights turn off?
Just like nyahhamilton said if it is not very far just keeping him in his cage is a possibility. When i got my 2nd panther he came with a cage and it was about a 30 minuet drive that I just kept him in his cage. We layed the cage down on its side so it wouldn't tip and i misted him a couple of...
Chameleons can handle a fall pretty well usually. I would just make sure he is walking on and make sure all his legs look alright. He may get some bruising though. I am no expert on this and none of my chams have ever really taken a fall. I hope he is ok and also on the stressed out colors he is...
Alright so it is 9:21 am right now and the temps range from 77 degrees Fahrenheit at the very bottom and mid-high 80's near the top with a basking area of 88 degrees. The spots he likes to hang out when not near the bottom I directly basking are about 83 degrees. It's still early so I will...
My room with my chams is upstairs and the vents don't put out too much air, maybe if the ambient temps are too high I can actually open the vent next to the cage to help. Thanks for all the help so far
He looks fine, he drinks fine, he eats alright. I can weigh him tomorrow and try to measure him. Last time I weiged him was at about 10 months and he was 82 grams, I posted a thread about his size and weight and others said he seems to be doing great.
I will post the ambient temps tomorrow, I know i could just be over reacting about this and he may simply not need to bask. I have the 2 uvb lights because I had the 5.0 on his first cage and when i upgraded to a bigger cage and the 10.0 i just tossed the 5.0 up there too and figured it wouldn't...
I forgot to mention I do have central air AC in the room but i closed the vent near his cage, I also have my ceiling fan on most of the time and sometimes a box fan too because I am upstairs in my house with the chams so it can get kinda warm. The breeder said the ceiling fan was fine to keep on...
