Thank you! If you’re from the UK I can certainly help you with someone to provide you with a viv that has a built in drain.
Thank you!
Does anyone know if this is safe to use as an alternative to drylok
Thank you! :) this is what it looks like right now :) excited to shake it off and hopefully just the excess bark comes off! Very happy with how it has gone, put some foam in the branches too and going to pack them with soil and drill a few small holes for drainage and in the whole on the left I...
Hi everyone!
As some of you will know I’ve been looking into my first bioactive set up and for this I really wanted to do an expanding foam wall. Today I completed the back piece of the wall using logs, coco planting mats and substrate. I have stuck these on using expanding foam and I am...
Hi everyone! Sorry the delayed response had a hectic few days, sadly my dog has hurt herself real bad so been between the vets and looking after her as well as trying to sort everything for this enclosure build! Really appreciate the advice and info! I’m about to put a new thread on of the first...
That’s insane, I get mine from a good local pet store and they’re all alive but if you go to a bigger brand pet store like pets at home a lot are dead in the boxes from dehydration. I don’t provide mine with water/gel but they get their water from the plants they eat
Hi! I believe they aren’t much different from locust so should be fine! I’m sure someone will know more than me on this topic and they’ll come to your aid but as long as they are supplemented and they should be fine! I’m from the UK and locust are our main feeder and many say they’re the only...
Hey, so I was doing my morning routine with Bruce and as I went to fill his water I look back and this is handing from his centre vine could this be the sperm you was on about?
As always appreciate the help and advise sonny! I am not sure if it was you or someone else but someone linked me up with mujipanthers who build enclosures for zoos and they’ve developed an enclosure that doesn’t require the hydro balls and mesh, the bottom is designed to drain itself which it...
I’ve also bought a few strips of cushion and carpet moss, I wasn’t sure wether to try embed them on the wall, do you know how deep they needed to be planted?
Hahahahaha I cannot express the excitement I have for this bioactive viv and how much I don’t want it to go wrong 🤣🤣🤣 glad to know I aren’t the only one trying to stuff things in 🤣 the competition tor light was what I was worried about but they both seem to be sharing the area fairly well so I...
Hi Lee, ahhhhh I haven’t seen him do it since and I’ve been with him all yesterday and it doesn’t look like anything has changed. Going to give it today and see if I notice it again but it looks like it was a two day thing just cleaning
For a bit of further context the viv is 122 x 61 x 61. On the ground drawing I’ve given an inch for the wall and another once which is marked with the squiggly line to say potential wall incase it moves towards two inch. One side is mesh so this gives a bit more play for the plants and I can use...
Hi everyone, I’m in the process of building a bioactive enclosure for my Cham and I’ve been mapping out where certain plants will go.
I’m doing an expanding foam background with coco fibre planting mats for the hanging plants and getting a log for a small fern towards the top of the enclosure...
Hey everyone! Apologises for the mucky screen, this would be cleaning week but my boy moved to his new enclosure next week so we’re holding off with wiping the doors down and taking things out as we don’t want to mix his life up for so many days on the trot!
Now to the main reason I’m here...
