Thanks so much! Why didn't I think of that?

    Criss crossed bamboo wall panels?

I watched a Youtube video where a keeper had these bamboo wall panels on the sides of her enclosure. It prevented her cham from walking on the screen. Does anyone know what there are called? Every keyword I type in gives me window shades or large room screens. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

    How does your chameleon drink?

When I need to make Cosmic drink, I take him out of his enclosure and put him in his tree. Then I get the spritzer and spray the heck out of the tree. After a while, he gets the clue and starts lapping it up. Unfortunately, I'm not convinced he drinks a lot inside his cage.

Out of date, incomplete, or wrong?

The only thing I noticed was that one of the sheets isn't clear in it's wording about superworms. Wait... Our care guides are species specific!?!?!? Maybe she commented before reading?

Naturalistic hydration - how does it work?

Exactly. An infection will prevent the lungs from working properly. Whether or not that function involves removing water vapor fron the air.

Naturalistic hydration - how does it work?

Can we rule out a mechanism like this? https://www.newscientist.com/article/2111237-desert-lizard-can-sip-water-from-sand-through-its-feet-and-back/

I put two traps on the enclosure. One by each vent on the light. The ants seem 99% gone. Yay and thanks!

Cold terrarium (for speacies like hoehnelii or bradypodion)

Lol. We're just hypersensitive on forums because you cannot hear peoples intonation. I was going to apologize in advance if anyone was upset by my devils advocacy. I think of it as a brainstorming session.

Cold terrarium (for speacies like hoehnelii or bradypodion)

Lol. I'm better versed in hardware and physics then I am Chameleons, though I am learning. I do really enjoy DIY projects like this. I'm not really looking for another Cham, but I am considering looking through my PC parts boxes to see if I can fabricate anything useful. IIRC, I have a PC...

Cold terrarium (for speacies like hoehnelii or bradypodion)

I think we need to plug in numbers here. My Cham room is 72F ambient. The rest of the first floor of my house is 70F. If I can evacuate the air at a fast enough rate, I can approach the 70F ambient. I cannot get it below that 70F ambient without some other mechanism. I saw suggested temps...

Cold terrarium (for speacies like hoehnelii or bradypodion)

The delta T depends on ambient. I don’t see how an exaust fan cools anything below ambient. If its colder outside, then the fan needs to be pointed inside to cool. I’m thinking a delta T of -10F would be required for this to be effective. I believe you will spend more on an inefficient...

Cold terrarium (for speacies like hoehnelii or bradypodion)

I'm still intrigued by this. In thinking about it, I'm applying what I know from other hobbies. I've had friends DIY peltier coolers onto DSLR cameras to cool the sensors. I've also had friends use ice water reservoirs with water pumped into a CCD watercooled setup. These are very good...

Cold terrarium (for speacies like hoehnelii or bradypodion)

If you are using a peltier, then a heatsink with long fins could cool water relatively easily, but I wonder about having cooling connected to humidification. What if you find youself in a scenario where the chameleon needs it colder, but less humid? My minds eye still sees some sort of...

Cold terrarium (for speacies like hoehnelii or bradypodion)

I’m very curious as to how people accomplish this. I’m sure I could take an A/C apart to get it done, but its a big expense for a small area.

    Uneven shed?

Last week, Cosmic’s legs started to shed. I figured it would work its way around his body, but after the lags shed, it seemed like it was over. So Monday, I see his back shed beginning. He’s basically conpleted his shed, but it was different then the last times. I have read its a sign of...
