I know my chameleon and my greyhound do not give a crap about whether or not either of them is in the room. I did see my chameleon looking at the greyhound today, but not acting stressed at all. All the greyhound cares about is whether or not i have food, lol
There could be a color benefit either now or in the future, especially with his yellows and oranges. I imagine if you kept gutloading your crickets with it, you'd see brighter yellows and oranges as he ages than without. I chose the normal version for my chameleon because I prefer greens and...
My little brown anole laid an egg last night! It could be fertile because she was with living with a male not long ago. I candled the egg with a flashlight (without turning it or moving it!) and saw a red formation, it looked like an embryo to me, but I wasn't sure if it was too early for it to...
Man, my cham isn't scared of ANYTHING except sometimes my hand. Even mirrors! He has no reaction! Seems cool with my camera (except my phone camera, because I have to get so close to him for that).
My little guy wouldn't eat from my hand either. What I did was make a "cricket feeder" -- I cut away the front of a large bottle (leaving a lip) and cut out the bottom, then put mesh on the bottom and back to encourage crickets to climb. It's in his cage permanently, and I fed him at the same...
Hi guys, 2 days ago, I took home a male and female brown anole. They seem to be doing well (eating, pooping, drinking), but I am having trouble finding information on things like supplementing and appropriate feeders for this species. For example: unlike chameleons, are mealworms a good feeder...
New question related to sharp nails: Would it be ok if I used a nail file and filed off just the very tip? just the sharp little point? Would this somehow seriously impede his climbing? It's just been so painful to hold him and my hands are always covered in little scratches. I will wear gloves...
Hi, sounds to me like he's just stressed out from coming home. He might not eat for a day or two, and the gray spotted color is just stress. People on this board suggest leaving him completely alone for a week other than the necessary feedings/mistings.
Although this is probably all that's...
I finally got mine to hand feed. I made a "cricket feeder" out of a large bottle. I cut away the front and the bottom, and put screen mesh in the bottom and on the back so the crickets would climb. The crickets are not smart and don't get out. I fixed it in place and then I fed him there every...
You should! All it takes to get started is a ball of yarn, crochet hook, and stitch marker, which can even just be a different color of yarn! If your thing has separate pieces, you'll want a darning needle as well :) ravelry.com has TONS of easy free patterns to get started with.
Here he is!!!
I crocheted him myself :D The pattern is by Planetjune.com . He does happen to be for sale at http://www.etsy.com/shop/dragonsroyaltearoom, but I kind of just wanted to show him off, haha. I am also crocheting one in bright blue to be a nosy be chameleon.
Yeah, he climbed up my face one day and I thought he was going to give me a black eye, the way he grabbed the skin under my eye! Now he hisses at my face.
My veiled likes drinking from the branches rather than the leaves, so I always position his dripper to drip on a branch :) Sounds like he was licking it for water or to sense it like the other person said!
