I won't sell my babies until they are 5/6 mos for just the reason stated above - I had my first losses ever, and that was at 3.5 mos, and 4 mos- I have no idea why they did this, but this was also my first " winter babies " , normally I try to get breeding late summer, early fall for spring...

I think you may have him to hot, they do not like it very warm, 80 is pretty warm for a pygmy - they do have a 2.0 uvb, but also lots of plants to "hide" from the uv also - remember, they stay mostly on the ground or low underbrush, so try to give him a thick planted area to stay cool in - and...

I fed mine alfalfa pellets, but they ate EVERYTHING I offered, including the net CAGE I used to put them in when I was collecting them, stopped at my sis in laws on the way home, well...it was quite a few hrs before I headed home, with HUNDREDS of lose hoppers in my car ! lol :eek::mad::p so now...
