well my chameleon has been having some eye issues- bulging and rubbing, and sometimes closing one eye. the vet said there is no sign of infection and the drops he gave me aren't clearing it up. Someone told me it is possibly a vitamin A issue? So i was just wondering what a good way to resolve...
Yeah at the petstore where I live they only carry large supers- so when I was out of town this weekend I bought some at a petstore where I was, but when I was removing them from the sawdust that they come in to my crushed bran/fruit mix I noticed that these ones were still pretty big!! I am...
Just wondering if superworms can be too big for a baby panther? He's about 3-4 months. I know that the general rule is that it has to be the size of his head from eye to eye- but that it's different for soft shell worms? Are supers included in this category? The only superworms i can get my...
yeah he hasn't been shutting his eyes before today, just bulging them. and i think there is something wrong with my camera i cant get a good pic of him they are always blurry and pixel-ey. i could probably get a pretty good shot of his enclosure and get it posted by monday... sorry i just don't...
yeah i'm not exactly in florida =/ Northern Alberta Canada. He needs to have a basking light as our temperatures are not reliable here and i work full time and am usually away on weekends. I just don't want it to burn him- i'm kinda scared that he may already have a burn on his side/slash...
hes about three to four months. its kind of a guesstimate since the pet store i got him from wasn't too sure. so maybe a juv then?
so a zoo med 150 watt rheostat should do the trick for me?
it stays a constant 82.8F (except after misting it goes down a bit, even though i use hot water in the bottle) in his basking spot, measured by an electronic thermometer and hygrometer on the highest vine (right in basking spot) its about 2" from the top of the cage.
For the past week or so i keep catching my baby panther hanging on his screen cage top directly under his basking light. I have recently switched from a basking bulb to a 60W house light bulb to drop the temperature a little bit, and am wondering if this could be why?
I'm very worried about...
I have caught my panther baby (3-4 months old) sleeping about a half an hour before his lights go out a couple times now, wondering if that is anything to be worried about?
Thanks everyone,
Kelsie
Yeah I think I'm going to lose the dripper- I've never seen him drink from it i don't think he even knows its there! and damn crickets keep escaping... i would like to eliminate any holes in his cage =]
Thanks everyone,
Kelsie
So if i go by this misting schedule, 20 mins a day twice a day and one 5 min in the middle (its quite dry where i live) i will not need to use any manuel misting or drip system?
oh k off to another store i go =/ haha
alright i just wanted to know if all soil has to be replaced or if i can just surround in new soil.
Thanks,
Kelsie
The natural "organic" soil i bought today has an ingredient called perlite. The soil has small white balls in it which has to be the perlite. Other ingredients are humus, peat moss, and compost, then perlite.
Is this soil safe to repot my new plants in or do I need new soil?
Also, when...
Hey all,
I finally lucked out and found a schefflera plant at a garden store today (after being on a list to call if any came in for 6 weeks..)
So now I'm ready to repot my plant and am looking for any tips. Should i just use the plastic pot it came in (After washing it well.)
Also, how do...
no i should hopefully have some up tonight though. Its very hard to get a pic of him bulging the way he does though since i only catch him doing it about twice a week. but i will get pics up of his eyes the way they are normally, as well as some pics to see if anyone can sex my little guy.
