Oh. Sorry to hear that. Better luck with the nxt clutch. I personally find completely covering the eggs with the incubation media, I've never had an issue with molding since I started covering them. Only downside is the inability to monitor them visually.
I would only use if it is a severe case of dehydration. If you are to use it in an emergency I would use a syringe or eye dropper, but as Carlton said, it will coat everything with sugars and can cause eye issues.

The eggs were taken from a deceased female on 3/26/11, a total of 8 were removed from her. First photo is a hour after they were removed from her.
