Excellent idea Hoj. I could even mount it to a piece of sheet metal between the wood and plastic and help spread the heat out over a larger area perhaps. This forum is great for sharing ideas and saving headaches.

The electronic ballast is what sold me. Lots of the cheapo lights use the less efficient magnetic types. Electronic ballasts seem to put out the full wattage better too. Great idea on the mounting with the endcaps holding the bulbs up. Anyone else?
