It's chamaeleo cristatus (don't bask much) and chamaeleo sternfeldi (bask a lot).
In my opinion, people tend to overexpose their animals to all sorts of commercial high uv-b output bulbs. Animals, and chameleons more specific, need UV-B to produce vit d3 and be able to uptake calcium for bone...
You should check a few posts back to see my rearranged setup. I don't use 2.0's for UVB output, i use them to give light to my setup. My source of UVB is my t-rex uv flood 100watt at a range of 60-70cm which is one of the best solutions for natural UVB output. And on the other hand i have...
I indeed use compact low UV-B bulbs (repti-glo 2.0) and 1 mercury vapour bulb (at minimum 70cm from closest basking point) from T-rex (UV heat 100w flood)

I have bought all my cages 2nd handed ;) paying between 25-50 euro for 1 cage ;) But yeah it's an expensive hobby! But on the other hand, if you are always out and drink and smoke you probably just pay the same :)

Thanks Fabian! I have 1.4 (sub-adult captive bred animals), keeping them in a large tree, free range. I take my pictures with a Nikon D60 with normal kit-lens (18-55 mm and 55-200mm).

Hi all,
Here a video i've made some time ago from one of my animals (f. campani) which was on a feeding frenzy, shooting buggs like a mad man (or in this case woman :P). Be careful if you have a download limit, since the video is +/- 200mb. Click on the image to download the video! You will...
I'm keeping ch. tr. rudis (or most likely sternfeldi) and ch. tr. cristatus, i've kept ch. cfr dilepis (most likely ch. quilensis or roperi) in the past. There are some pictures in the photography forums here.

They don't run away, the walls on the bottom are 35cm high and no branch reaches these walls. I haven't had any problems with runaways and the proximity of the lights is surely not a problem since these lights are not strong (uv and temperature wise). Room temperature is 18-20°C and local near...
