Go for it! That little slide out drawer is good for drainage, I would try to find some strong type of screen or pipes to go across the bottom but above where the drawer pulls out so water falls through to the bottom. That way, if you put a tree in there it would sit on the screen or pipes and...

Ditto. I returned mine within an hour of buying/ putting it together and opted to build my own.

There is plywood blocking that space. It annoyed me to have to put it there because the guy at home depot cut the wood wrong

So it's dry now with 4 coats, but do I have to let it cure before I put screen on and decorate? I don't know if I'm patient enough to not do anything with it for a whole month...

Cats are shut out of my/his room unless I'm in there or in and out doing stuff. They wouldn't have enough time to do anything bad (except eat worms!) without me catching on first.
