Thanks for the info Sandra, it was very informative! I have just been following the same supplementation plan since i bought him, calcium w/o D3 4-5 times a week, calcium w/D3 on Friday and a multivitamin supplement the next Friday. Do you think this routine is good? His tongue already looks...
He seems perfectly healthy except for this one problem and I have given him calcium w/o D3 at every feeding and calcium with D3 once and a multivitamin once, so i will continue using these supplements and see if it gets better... His eyes also look very healthy and i have never seen them closed...
Hey guys, I got a jackson's chameleon from a local reptile store about 2 weeks ago and hes about 8-10 moths old. At first i only had hornworms to feed him and noticed that he would never flick out his tongue to get them, just walk on over to them and bite em right off the leaves. This week i was...
Got him!
Soo i went first thing this morning to pick up my new jackson chameleon! I fed him a few hornworms already but he didn't seem interested in crickets. Not sure of a name yet, might go with Hornelius but sounds a little cheesy lol... Anyways, maybe some of these pics can give a better...
No he definitely wasn't sleeping and looked to be in great health and eating crickets like a champ, I was standing by the cage observing him for like 45 minutes haha...and Jessica believe me I almost bought him on the spot but i wanted to go home and set up his home first
Yea i was going to look into that since they seem to prefer higher levels of humidity, and Jackson's are also my favorite because they look so prehistoric and boss with their horns lol, good luck with your chameleon and its babies!
....good contribution....
I really hope your right, i want to get him while he's still in his "teen-adult" years lol. I am probably going to pick him up tomorrow morning cuz he is just to good to pass up while I am down here in Miam. And Rasta, yes I have an enclosure set up with everything and ready for him to move in...
I am going back to the pet store tomorrow so i'll try and get a better measure but if i remember correctly its body, from nose to base of tail, was about 5 inches so i'm assuming he's around 10 inches total length. I zoomed in a lot on my camera so thats maybe why he looks much bigger in the...
Hey guys, so I am really interested in this Jackson's chameleon but i wanted to see if anyone can help me estimate its age as it is wc and the local pet store owner doesn't know its age. I am really hoping its about 8-10 months or less and not an adult yet, thanks!
Sometimes i'll catch my little guy do that and I just spray a little bit of mist around the leaves and he chills out for a bit, but this only happens in his basking spot
Believe me, the worms were crawling all over the place, one even crawled right under his nose on the screen for about a minute and Yoda just looked at him like they were best friends while i was screaming "FINISH HIM!!".... But anyways i'll just try again tomorrow
Ugh i don't even want to think of holding the worms with my bare hands, they creep me out so i try grabbing them with tweezers and they start to roll themselves up and touch me anyways lol...But yea Carol i would love if my cham ate all sorts of worms and other feeders so hopefully he will start...
Haha i really hope he finds out soon. It can get a little frustrating holding the cup to him begging him to eat and all he does is look at me like im some kind of weirdo lol. Can superworms be kept in the fridge along with hornworms to stop their growth?
So a few days ago I decided to get horn and super worms (25 of each) and every day I try to feed yoda 2-3 worms but he just wont budge and eat them. I tried cup feeding and just letting them loose in the cage but he does not seem interested at all. He does however run to eat crickets so its not...
I think it was the furcifer chameleon or something close to that, but yea the show was pretty awesome and informative, lots of commercials though:rolleyes:
I don't think its really that bad, personally i would't feed my cham a lizard but it does happen in nature...the vids of chameleons eating mice are crazzzy tho
Thanks for the reply laurie. I was kind of in a hurry so i just decided to take the entire enclosure, but i have to transport him again in 2 weeks so i'll definitely try it that way and see if it turns out better. He has gone back to normal now tho after taking him out in the sun
He seemed pretty scared in the car ride and was barely moving around his enclosure, so i don't think he liked the car ride too much haha. I transported him in the same enclosure so his environment didn't change too much, just the stress of the car constantly moving might have been too much. I am...
