Veiled Female Seems Weak, Won't Move or Eat

Another cause for calcium depletion is egg production. You might want you push the issue with your vet or seek another opinion just to be safe. If it were a male in question I wouldn't even suggest it.

Veiled Female Seems Weak, Won't Move or Eat

URI is an upper respiratory infection. Probably one of the most common ailments of reptiles next to MBD , which you can read about here: https://www.chameleonforums.com/threads/what-metabolic-bone-disease-mbd-looks-like-how-it-happens-and-how-to-fix-it.95071/

    Bioactive with drainage ideas

This is what I'm also planning on doing, with a carpet of baby tears and some cork bark rounds for the isos to munch.

Veiled or Jackson That is the question

The only reason I even mentioned it is because of a recent thread with a sick veiled where the owner more or less said that because the chameleon was only thirty five bucks, it wasn't worth the expense of taking it to the vet.

Veiled or Jackson That is the question

I'm not trying to come off as too brash here, but if the initial cost of a panther is too expensive, will you be able to afford any sudden (and typically not cheap) vet visits? I've seen this approach a lot with cheaper reptiles - the idea that because the initial cost is low, maintenance will...

Veiled or Jackson That is the question

All sources seem to indicate that male veileds have a 50/50 shot of being fine when young, then going through puberty and becoming quite aggressive and staying that way. I personally love Jackson's, but they're definitely on the more subtle end of the color spectrum. Males can often have...

Veiled Female Seems Weak, Won't Move or Eat

The popping sound could also be a pretty strong indicator of an URI. How reliable is the person you left her with? What I mean, is that is there a chance that they're unfamiliar with reptiles to the point that they may have thought she didn't "need" her lights and she went without? I'm not...

Ozzy a panther/oustalet hybrid- How big will he get?

That's quite the point spread you've given yourself.

letting her decide? or might this not be a good idea. pls help me out

No. Don't force feed her. I'm curious as to which part of your research made this seem like a good idea after two days of not feeding. I'd also let her acclimate for more than two days. More like two weeks. Go about your business, let her get used to you doing basic cage maintenance and just...

    Meet Mickey Mouse!

I wish info on these guys wasn't so scarce. I'd be willing to take the plunge if not for that. Very beautiful animal. Did I understand correctly when I read that they can open/flare out their "ears" as a part of a threat display?

    Yet another cat attack

Antibiotics can often harm more than they heal, so i wouldn't recommend just buying one online and experimenting with it. You should at least try calling a vet. They should be able to give an estimate over the phone.

    Hello there!

I would also ditch the standing water, unless it is there to catch excess water from a dripper. Useless, otherwise.

    First Chameleon, help

1./2. I'm always curious as to which websites are telling people exo terras are the way to go with chameleons. There seem to be a lot of them. It might work in the short term, but it's not great. 3. More vines and branches, live plants. 4.Nope. If you haven't opened the bag yet, I'd return it.

Can I ask where you got him? I'd love one.

    Hello there!

Chameleons change color based on mood and stressors, not environment. I hope that your "years of trying" included years of research.

    Jacksons Chameleon stressed in cage?

More branches, more cover. Pothos are pretty much foolproof and look nice. Live plants also help maintain humidity.
