Thanks for the info! I wasn't sure about the moss although I am sure there is moss in their natural environment and they must eat it at times.

    Asparagus for guy load

Man I bought some asparagus for dinner and instead of throwing away the ends that I cut off I diced them up real small and gave it to the crickets. They went absolutely nuts for them. They were digging through the guy load to pick them out and carry them away to eat them. Who would have thunk...

    Always something new LOL

It was the same temperature as always which is room temp about 72 degrees. So who knows LOL. It was fun to watch him enjoy it. Hopefully that will become the norm! He just moved into his new ReptiBreeze 24x24x48 on Sunday from a 16x16x36 so maybe he is starting to like his new home !

    Always something new LOL

Well my 6 month veiled never likes to be misted. He always tries to run away and hide and he turns brown. Today he loved it, didn't move and turned from brown to blue/aqua and yellow and green. I have no idea why he liked it so much today. LOL.

    New home

I just finished setting up Karma's new ReptiBreeze XL 24x24x48 enclosure. He quickly outgrew the small enclosure and has nearly doubled in size since I got him back in September. For the lighting/basking I have an 18in reptisun 5.0 UVB, a 60 watt Zoo Med Blue daylight bulb and a regular 60 watt...

    Pumpkin for gut load?

Well with Halloween past us and all these carved out pumpkins making their way into the trash or compost pile, I am using some for my cricket gut load. Do any of you using pumpkin? I mixed it with apples, oranges, spinach, kale, carrots, potatoes, romaine and banana peel. I know squash can be...

Mister Tough Guy is a Softie

Ha! My veiled just did the same thing. He puffed up hissed but he wanted out. He did the same thing and ran up my arm and to the window and climbed up the string/chain for the blinds. I was however scared to death he would fall. So I didn't leave him there very long. It was funny when he saw his...

5 month old Veiled looks like we wants to escape

OK thanks for the feedback. I will work on getting a better gut load as well. Another question though, will my current ReptiSun 5.0 18inch bulb be still ok or will I need to upgrade to a 24 inch bulb? You have been very helpful. I have had reptiles in the past but not in the last 10 years...

5 month old Veiled looks like we wants to escape

Thanks, Yes I didn't realize it was a goofy size when we bought it (it actually is 10x15x36). It came as a "starter kit" with the ficus tree, the dripper, the sprayer and supplements. I am going to raise it off the floor ASAP and I will start shopping for a larger cage. Do you suggest I go to...

5 month old Veiled looks like we wants to escape

I think he actually might be getting ready to shed again too. I just saw him rubbing his body on the screen. Thats what he did the first time he shed 2 weeks ago and he did run around the cage like a nut. Could that be possible to be shedding again within 2 weeks?
