Baby supers are super small lol. I don't know what to compare them to; maybe (when first born) a grain of rice. If you are looking for them good luck, I just see very small movements telling me that they are there.
From the beetles? I just take the beetles out and put them in a new container. I do this maybe once a month or when you dig around the wheat bran you see movement.
For my superworm breeding i use a shoe box size container to house about 500 worms. For them to pupate, i found that a fishing bait thing is the easiest and most organised way for them to pupate. As for my beetles I use oatmeal wheat bran blend with them (and the worms too), with no moss and I...
I use a under tank heater with a similar bin and never had a problem. I would use a thermostat if you are worried about anything happening. Just use a 10-20 gallon heater.
This is what I do too. i just have wheat bran and oatmeal in a shoe box size container. Houses about 500 for me all different sizes, but still works well.
Thank you, they are such an good experience. I can not wait to see some real color.:D I will try to get a picture of the one showing lots of green on his head, but i am finding it hard to take a good picture of these guys.
i am looking for someone in the bay area or (better yet the east bay) that has 2-3 producing hydei culture that they are willing to sell. I do not want to pay for shipping. So PM me if you have any and live in the bay area.
thanks
update
#23 hatched today. So far at least 3 hatch every two days. Anyway here is another picture of one of the babies. i had to change the brightness so it looks a little weird.
I am having a hard time grasping it also, but I know that it is hard to sex them at around 2 months and gets easier at 3 months old. It is also easy to sex them at a couple weeks...apparently.
