Ok, well recently he's been turning VERY dark when i open the door to mist/feed him. Almost black. With his pattern he ends up looking like a banana that has been in the sun way too long (very dark brown with spots). I'd post a pic but if it's stress related like I'd imagine I don't want to put...
Hi,
Just a quick question about the size a male veiled can reach. On the species section of the site it says they can grow up to 50cm. In a care book I have it says they can grow up to 24". Other online sites seem to say around 16".
Has anyone ever seen or heard of a veiled growing...
I'd never heard of that either. Does anyone know if this causes the cham any serious problems when climbing etc? Or do they just continue as normal minus a nail?
I'm sorry :o. Some people just grate at me a little. You're completely right. Everyone should go back to telling me how awesome it is that Cass is ok lol!!
Yeah, I hand feed him everything so I made sure I took his food a lot closer to him for a few days. I'm just glad he's back to his usual grumpy self! :)
No sugar, not digging. Merely making the point you're contradicting yourself. Does this forum give you enjoyment? It just seems to annoy you. Personally I'm not sure I'd bother if I had your view on things. Anyway, I'm bored now. Really though, if you're trying to make a point use some tact.
Because I'm a student nurse on an NHS bursary only and the people on here are much more experienced cham owners and breeders than I am. Therefore I didn't want to call an emergency vet (on a saturday night) if the replies I got on here told me it's nothing to worry about.
I hardly think I was...
I hand feed everything for Cass, so i just cut the fruit into pieces that he can manage and put it in the palm of my hand the way i do with all his other food. I wear a glove when i feed him so he knows if i offer my hand to him palm up in the glove there's probably something nice on there for...
Yes they are good indicators and we could sit and debate this for hours, some people (before you take offense I'm not implying you're one of them) can misinterpret the sings chameleons give off when stressed etc. I read a post on here a short while ago where the person thought the fact that the...

I assume you have to email the guy from the home page to order one of these. The only problem seems to be they don't have any listed that are tall enough. If he makes them to order though he may be able to increase the height.
Oh wait -...
Simple answer...we don't know. Only the chameleon knows whether or not it likes interaction. They all have different personalities so I guess you just go with what your cham likes, but if it doesn't like handling (which most don't) then stay away. I don't think there's anything wrong with being...
Thanks for the replies everyone. Cassius's tongue is fine now. I took him for a check up and the vet said nothing is torn or broken, he may just have over shot his tongue a bit. He's completely back to normal again now :) still trying to shoot at fruit before realising he has to scoop it up lol.
My cham hates being handled so I don't. To be honest I think you did get the wrong pet if you wanted something to play with. They are very pretty and interesting to look after but they aren't social animals. Maybe get a sugar glider? They are pretty cool exotic pets and love to bond. :)
I think that's what I'm going to have to do with Cassius seeing as he hates everyone and everything! You'd think by now he'd have figured out i'm not trying to kill him!
Ah that's ok then! Cass is around 1 year so I'm sure it'd be obvious by now if he was a girl. It's an interesting note about sexing though. A hermaphrodite rat, a gender confused chameleon and goldfish that live for years and years?! You sure know how to pick 'em lol. I bet your house is an...
