i breed beardeed pygmys and have two unrelated colonies. i have 2 males from one colony and 1 male from the second but sadly no females yet.. males are 30 each plus shipping
i have a veiled that also goes on hunger strikes..hell refuse to eat from his cup..if i offer a worm hell gobble it up. i have found that if i free roam just a couple of crickets at a time hell chase them down and get them. my conclusion was he was getting bored with his cup and enjoyed...
thats funny my female is also receptive right now and she is all over her cage shes only 7-8 months so shes gonna have to wait:rolleyes:

most of us have a bare bottom but you could use parer towles if youd like but it needs replacing often...my cages dont have a solid bottom they have screen drainage for the water to go through
i see the pics now....get rid of the substrate it can cause impaction which can lead to death...he is a he...get a 5.0 repisun for uvb and a 30 watt-40 watt for basking

i am so sorry you lost him. your set up looked good . temps might have been a little high but i dont think that did him in. were you only feeding ff? i found with my hatchlings that they werent interestes in ff after a few...
i dont think it matters as long as they have proper basking temps through the day the food would just continue to be digested the next day hope that helps
