    Chameleon Dangers

If you think that the drying paint fumes are bad for the cham the last thing you would want to do is use an air freshener or candle to mask the fumes! If your just using water based paint than a day or two tops is all it should take. At the end of the day just let your nose do what it does best...

    as the summer get hotter

I have a question, if your cage is 85 at night how hot is it in the daytime. Anywhere I've lived (and I live close to Los Angeles now)it was cooler at night then in the daytime.

    Flying Crickets?

Kevin: How many threads and post have already discussed the "EVIL" Black Cricket from hell. It's probably just another evolutionary step towards them taking over the world. It was often postulated that if there was an Armageddon that only cockroaches would be left, not if these beasts ate them...

    Uvb size

DIY cages also has a duel 24" that takes 24" tubes, 1 5.0 UVB & 1 6500K. Like Son mentioned 2x2x4 is a big cage to illuminate with just one tube. The basking light helps but it's still 4' to the bottom of that cage. Search for dual fixture and you'll find the people that have them like them, I do.

A nice place to get a new cage?

I have no dog in this fight, so a 2x2x4 at LLLReptile is 79.95 + shipping and 95.00 shipped from DIYCAGES. Now if you would have been at the San Diego show last weekend, DIYCAGES was selling the cage for 75.00. Oh sure that may seem like a long way to go from Tennessee to save 20 bucks and it...

    Cedar framing?

No matter how good a wood's natural water resistance is, used in a cage where water is almost a constant it will eventually fail. That's why they make so many kinds of wood sealers and finshes. As far as for adding more chemicals into the mix, if you let any coating fully cure then you won't be...

    A/C + swamp cooler

I tried something similiar when I was working out in Palm Springs. It would be hard to put in words how bad it failed. Swamp Coolers aka Evaprotive Coolers work by evaprotion. So how they work is to bring in outside air in through the cooler than exahuast it out of the house. If you try to leave...
