    Looking for Pygmy Chameleons!

Im in the market for Pygmies as well. I am looking specifically at Bearded Pygmies (Rieppeleon Brevicaudatus), or Spectral Pygmies (Rhampholeon Spectrum), I have messaged Micheal Nash, and he said that there are very limited breeders right now. I’ve signed up for various newsletters for when...

    Rieppeleon brevicaudatus breeder?

Not that I would buy from without a lot more vetting. Don't know if they're actually breeding or W.C. https://petkeen.com/pygmy-chameleons-for-sale-breeders-in-usa/...

    Rieppeleon brevicaudatus breeder?

Any ideas why that would be? Short lifespan? Cyclical popularity (i.e. out of 'fashion' now, but interest waxes & wanes)? Low fecundity? Combination? Going through the archives for more general information, it appears there were at least a few folks here that were breeding them a decade...

    Rieppeleon brevicaudatus breeder?

You are absolutely spot on in all of this, from the reasons why they aren't popular to why they should/could be more popular in the future. Low fecundity is a large reason for why they are not a staple in the hobby. Pygmies, depending on species, usually lay a clutch in the two to four egg...

    Pet trade...

...mind!!!!! There were never chameleons made in captivity so someone had to want and then pay.. GUILTY here! And sorry to say--- If any bearded pygmy's become available-- I might just snatch them up.. I had great success years ago and actually loosing interest was the reason I gave them up...

    Your favorite species and why.

Had (few years ago) Bearded pygmy's which were fun to watch in groups, similar to anole except it was the female that was dominate (in my groups). If I would have ever bought just 1, not sure if it would have had the same effect. Yes, very cute and different but without watching them do their...

Chameleon tiny enough for 30 by 30 by 18

Well yeah there’s Pygmy Bearded and they can’t go in a 2’x2’x4’ they’re too small so you’d have to have something smaller cause they’d get lost lolol maybe you can put an anole or two in there! You could make a nice little setup for green and bahaman anoles :)

Looking to build a very large Pygmy habitat. Starting on it today! Need help picking a species please!

...debated, some say possible repository issues/fungal, some say drowning. But I’ve learned to do it in such a way in the past with my bearded Pygmys that I know if done right it isn’t harmful. Tank will be fully planted dart frog terrarium style and have an active culture of springtails and a...

Quick question jacksonii jacksonii lighting/husbandry. Thank ya!

For sure! Luckily the Jackson’s are the cb babies in the classifieds here. Couldn’t help myself. Already looking awesome at 5 months. I sure wish rampheleon sp. we’re around but the Brookesia are definitely cool. It’s weird the last time I was into this stuff it was impossible to find a...
