    First bioactive enclosure!

This isn’t a method which I’ve used myself as I have all screened enclosures. I learned of it as I saw this was how some others were setting up. I believe pvc pipe comes in a variety of diameters, so you can pretty much choose your size. For siphoning, you could try something like this...

    Advice needed: Hybrid Bioactive Enclosure

Sure. I would lightly sand the panel where you’ll be attaching with glue to scuff it for better adhesion.

    Advice needed: Hybrid Bioactive Enclosure

I tend to look for the easiest ways to do things, which are not always the best or the prettiest. So, take that into consideration. I’m sure others may be able to offer a much better solution. The chimney effect as I understand it, needs air flow coming from a lower aspect. Using a relatively...

    First bioactive enclosure!

With a solid enclosed bottom, it’s best to have a tube going down to drainage level to siphon out excess water as needed. PVC pipe with some notches to sit on the bottom and a cap for the top works well. Just make sure to cut the pipe long enough to set above the substrate.

    HELP I LOST A CRICKET

They are very hard to find in a bioactive set up. Your Gus should be okay, but to ensure the cricket won’t get hungry and try to bite him at night, you can put a piece of carrot or some other veg in the enclosure.

    Fogging & Drinking & Hydration

Just so you know, many chameleons are very secretive about drinking. In the 7 years I’ve been keeping them, I’ve only seen them drink a very small number of times. Most were of my wild found guy who was quite sick when he was given to me and the other was when I unknowingly had a mist head die...

    Free egg-shaped feeder!

Very cool! I’m curious about how well it works at preventing escapes, especially from crickets. I do really like that the bottom is enclosed rather than just up against the screen, which allows bsfl to wriggle their way to freedom.

    Feces check - Isospora Jajacimmani

I had to look that up. In more common terms for most of us, that is coccidia and a heavy load of it. Thankfully, I have only had to deal with a light load of this in one of my beardies (it actually is a part of their natural flora) and also thankfully, I am pretty disciplined with all contact...

Are these receptive or gravid colors?

Hi. Once our little green girls develop their colors and patterns, they keep them for life. When she first developed them, I’ll guess that she was very active and restless, almost in constant motion. That is the receptive period of looking for a boy. Now her colors and patterns have settled, her...

Moving my panther chameleon into a larger screen cage — how do you keep humidity up?

I’m in humid Florida, so can’t help much with humidity other than the standard ways to maintain as best as possible - applying cling window film to all sides and back, leaving the front open for proper ventilation, plenty of safe live plants and provided your night temps are below at least 68F...

is my chameleon almost ready to give birth?

Yes, not eating, or eating less can be a sign that she may be close to laying her eggs. Hoping you have a proper lay bin of moistened play sand. I suggest pinning up something to cover the bottom half of her enclosure from now. Make sure to provide her with absolute privacy once she starts...

Air purifier in the cham room: worth it or just another thing to clean?

What are your humidity levels in general? Veileds need a lower level between 30-50%.
