I buy from Dubia and let the larvae morph by letting the cup sit on top of the light fixture that emit heat for couple of days. When I hear some buzzing sound, I know they are ready. :)

    Gutloading superworms

...water on the floor. The surface tension of the water coats them and then its GG. Plus you cant even gut load them much. The difference in weight between a starved super and one that just had a feast, is 10%. They are not the glorious crickets and dubia that can be up to 40% gutload by weight.

    New to chameleons

...see if I can get her back to eating roaches. How do you feed crickets. Bc I used to have toads and the crickets would jump everywhere and in a chameleon enclosure wouldn’t she not be able To find them bc they hide everywhere? They also can escape my feeding cup whereas the dubias or worms can’t.

    New to chameleons

Yea I haven’t given her a treat bug yet. I was going to give her horn worms but bc they grow so fast I didn’t want to feed her those yet bc she isn’t eating all the time so it’s unpredictable. She does eat straight roaches. The dubias are in a container with hiding spots and eat night before I

Hahahaha, I can’t believe my wife tolerated that. Well, they weren’t directly in the house or she wouldn’t have… think my days of having tons of bugs are over though lol.

Dubia roach substitutes? I live in Florida...

Hi. Discoids are the way to go here in Florida. Yes, basically any insect which you’ll be feeding to your animal, you need to feed and make sure it is as healthy as possible so that it will offer maximum nutrition. Try banded crickets…they are much hardier and stink less than domestic crickets...

Concern regarding feeding and unusual poop for my panther chameleon

...So, I’ve been taking crickets in and out of the cage sometimes leaving them on the roof overnight hoping he’ll eat. I tried a couple Dubia, but he wasn’t having it in the container. A couple of days ago, he started hanging out in the foliage deep in the bottom of the cage. Today, I found a...

...food intake requirements are still higher. What I always did with a new cham is put about a dozen crickets that they know in and then about 10 dubia. They will start picking them off with the others. I avoided superworms mostly because they can bite especially if they are a larger sized. I...

    Too many large dubia roaches

I have a small dubia colony and it’s done well for at least a year, I can’t remember for sure when I started it. They reproduce well. Recently I was going through the bin and noticed that I have way too many adults in there. Eustice won’t eat anything larger than a medium size dubia so what do I...

Concern regarding feeding and unusual poop for my panther chameleon

Hi again. So, about your diet, super worms should only be used as a treat ( if you didn’t already know, lol ) also maybe try to add hornworms and silkworms to his diet if possible. Also, I’d recommend using Zoomed repti-calcium WITHOUT d3 as a normal calcium and reptivite as a multivitamin...

Anyone else got a sadistic lil guy?

...what I need to know? And I need to know what the parasites were that they found? Not all are the same to get rid of them especially when it comes to cleaning the cage. Crickets.... rainbow mealworms is where I always got mine. Start working in dubia roaches as well. Dubia.com sells them cheaper.

Another vacation thread specific to dubias and feeding automation: a deep dive

In a lot of peoples mind, bug are bugs (although Dubias are the worst for most people). Also, he's a pretty picky eater.

Trying to get him on Dubia roaches

Switch from Dubia to discoid or something else a little more active. “Starve”(not actually) your Cham a bit. They can go weeks being choosy eaters. Don’t be afraid to let an adult go awhile. Just keep offering them until he takes them.

...when you first bring them home. It could take a couple weeks before he starts eating comfortably. On top of that, maybe this video will help you out. It can take them a while to come around to dubia roaches just because of their habit to move to a corner of the feeder cup, hide and stay...
